Another thing I used to do when women threw shit like that at me was act like it was a compliment and I was flattered, like "Thank you!"

Only works if it's in person and not over text because you have to subcommunicate signals that the insult didn't even register with you. Also requires you to have method acting chops a bit. But it's a great pattern interrupt and wigs them the fuck out.

Make her feel like shit for what she said. Don't fight her rebuttals. Just dump her and make sure she feels it. It's a win/win. You either offload this shitty person from your life, or she begs you to take her back, which would leave the decision in your hands and restore some of your power in the relationship.

You might think that telling her she hurt your feelings is a bitch move, but no--leaving this unaddressed and staying in the relationship is the actual bitch move. Speaking up is a boss move. Take it that she isn't for you and move on, take it that she isn't worth it, and be appreciative that she was as blunt as that - it works in your favour as a learning curve - treat it as a rejection sensitivity modulator. Women insult men like the wind blows trees. It’s part of the game. It doesn’t necessarily make her a bad person (though she does sound like a bitch here).

Part of developing as a man is learning not to take these kinds of insults personally. They usually come from a reactive, chaotic, emotional place. Back in the day, men didn’t take women’s barbs seriously at all - and I think this is why: women’s words can be mercurial and flippant. These days it’s considered misogynist to say that, but I don’t think it’s misogynist to understand it. It would be misogynist to dismiss women for being emotional, but there’s a difference between dismissing and understanding.

As men, our job is to stay grounded. Don’t get shaken by the words, but look for the emotion behind them - if it’s someone you care about (girlfriend, wife, mom, sister). A random chick talking shit is just noise.

Put simply: women talk a lot of shit. Your job is to figure out if what they say is meaningful or not. A throwaway insult like “you’re ugly” is meaningless, especially since women don’t even value male looks the same way men value female looks.

You’ll be alright, soldier.

Edit: to add on here, I find it really helpful to treat any insult as part of a frame test. Reframing it as a challenge gamifies the situation - where you win by not reacting emotionally, but by responding calmly. It helps remove your emotions from the equation. Hope that helps!
