Obviously this is anecdotal.

But I've noticed that online, men are more likely to be critical of women, where as women are more likely to be supportive of women.

But in my irl experience, men tend just not to criticize women, and more just mind there own business. Where as women tend to be comparatively far more critical of other women.

I feel as though 9/10 times, I hear someone refer to a woman as a slut, irl, its comes from another woman I know talking about her. And honestly, even that's low balling it.

I'm not saying that men don't have negative feelings towards women, but, to me at least, they don't really verbalize it.

It's odd how the roles almost reverse online in comparison to irl.

Maybe im alone in this but everything I know about this woman has been learnt against my will and I have Sydney Sweeny fatigue.

It’s just one provocative publicity stunt after another with her and I would like to actually see her act in something for once. Anyway there are more women shaming other women simply because they are more women following women celebrities. The ones with mostly male audience don’t last long and never have ousstanding movies (see what they’ve done to Megan Fox).

Sydney Sweeneys is pretty because of her genetics, most women can never get to her level even if they tried. It will be a guy that is 5ft3 competing with a man that is 6ft2.

That’s why you often see women who are successful in education and their careers still feeling that, no matter how hard they work or how much they achieve, a pretty blonde waitress or nanny is considered more desirable to men and society.

I had no idea what Syndney Sweeney had done now, since I don't usually care who wears what. Most haute couture rarely interests me because most of it looks ridiculous.

The first critique I saw was from Megyn Kelly, so pretty typical conservative moralizing.

I disagree, though, with your analysis.

The pattern I've noticed from men is this:

Most men tend to not care if strange women (as versus familiar women) dress immodestly or trashy unless they are ugly. Sweeney isn't ugly. Put that dress on Rosanne Barr or Rebel Wilson (although my god is she Ozempic skinny now) and men will absolutely come out in force to criticize them. In other words, so long as it makes that guy's sex drive rev and think he could have a chance of sex, he doesn't care at all.

BUT, if it is a familiar woman - his wife, his girlfriend, his sister, his mother, his daughter - that man will get critical of what that woman is wearing, no matter how hot she is.

Same pattern for a man to enjoy a stripper bouncing in his lap, but he sure as hell doesn't want his wife or daughter to be a stripper.*

OTOH, many women will equally criticize a stranger in booty shorts or a daughter, because the criticism comes from a different motivation. Men's criticism seems to come from possession ore relation - is the woman "mine" in some capacity. Women's criticism seems to more come from jealousy, envy, or a feminist lens that women will never be considered anything but sex objects.

Although fairly liberal in outlook, I am actually fairly modest in dress and have encouraged my daughters to be modest. It was actually pretty difficult to shop for them for a while. I want them to be taken seriously for their mind.

As to Sweeney, I flipped through her various dresses. Some are very attractive. Her sheer see-through dress I liked, but wish she'd worn at least a modicum of underwear. I very much liked the back enclosure on that dress. Sweeney's goal is to advertise the goods and be a sex object for her career. I wish Sweeney could take a note out of Monroe's white dress photos - that the flash and tease is often more alluring than the full display. As a feminist, I also think that if women sell themselves on pure sex appeal, they undermine being taken seriously for anything else.

As to whether Sweeney is natural and without work. Come on man. Everyone, even twenty-year-olds, has had work in Hollywood. I'd recommend watching some of the plastic surgeons who go into detail with photos to discuss the changes that men and women get.

Both men and women slutshame women. And they shouldn't! Personally, I've seen significantly more slutshaming from men (the women I know and see online have much less negative views on women who have lots of sex, sex workers, porn actresses, strippers, and bestie going to the club in a see-thru dress) but ik that might not be the same everywhere.
There's a big difference between slutshaming and, like...all other criticism. Women are just regular people. Sometimes they are worthy of criticism. Criticizing Sydney Sweeney for her politics or her acting isn't sexist or slut shaming or whatever.
I truly do not understand how Sydney Sweeney being born hot makes her a great role model for women.

Women criticizing things like that and men criticizing things like that do not engage in the same type criticism, and the only people who are comparing men’s and women’s attitude are men, who try to excuse away their own principlessiness, weakness and moral confusion. Because they don’t like to feel embarassed.

The same women who are critical of pornography and sexual liberation culture are critical of Sydney’s dress. They remain consistent. You will never catch a chick with an OF account crying that some woman wore the wrong dress, for example.

Men’s attitude towards sexual liberation fluctuates with how much control they per have of a woman’s sexuality. The only time when men like sexiness and sluttiness is when men get to consume it on their own terms. If Sydney Sweeney had an OF account and sold a pic in her dress, showing cleavage or boobs or whatever, men would have started on outrage circus: the same conservatives who simp for Sydney on their shows would be pissing, shitting and puking.

I am tired of people deflecting and pretending that women are engaging in this type of behavior more than men, because the two genders arrive to their positions from fundamentally different places.

So, you are right that women are absolutely capable and willing to criticize other women. This happens all the time. Sexual behavior in particular is a very popular sort of behavior to garner criticism and shaming.

However, many men liking the dress and thinking she looks hot in it is the digital equivalent of wolf-whistling, not some kind of principled stance about appropriate behavior, sexualized clothing choices, support for women’s agency, etc. Men are perfectly capable of holding the conflicting ideas simultaneously: “damn what a skank!” and “fucking good-looking skank though!”

I have no way to measure whether women or men perpetrate more criticism/hate towards women in general nor in relation to specific types of behavior or topics.

Seeing backlash about Sydney Sweeneys dress and other situations recently which end up in people slut shaming or making other judgements I noticed it’s mostly if not all form other women.

I don't have any way of knowing who contributes most to the mass shaming, but men definitely contribute in high numbers.

My impression is that while men obviously love looking at great boobs, they lose respect (and often civility) for the person showing it to them. This is hardly a novel theory.
