I deleted everything I could immediately and have never regretted it

I kept nothing physical, she took some photos so she has something I guess.

It was integral to me moving on. I don't even hate her, but I needed her gone form my sphere

I have kept some of my ex wife, the kids and family. We have 4 kids together and someday I will let them go through them. It’s for them. I don’t look at them but the kids deserve to have a history of our family if they want it.

I do not have any photos of other past partners.

I put all of our photos in a plastic tub that’s sealed in the garage hanging from the ceiling. They were mostly good memories but living in the past is a fools game. One day, maybe my kids will want to see their parents when they were happy together.

If the ex was on the end she was cropped out. If she was between our 2 boys she is still there.

I deleted every picture with my ex in the heat of the divorce. She used to complain about me taking photos, now she has lost a ton of photos of her and the kids… I now regret it, but not that much

I actually haven't thought of this yet... I have 1 spot where I'm making a pile of her mother's day stuff & father's day stuff & anniversary stuff bc idkw to do with it... she could come back & see it. But maybe that's toxic? We're just separated bc she wants out. (Nothing I did other than try too hard which caused her to push away.)

Not me, but my current partner was divorced. When we had kids, I made sure she got rid of all that shit at least as far as I know. And and honestly, if I had to do it all over again, I would never date anybody who kept pictures with their ex unless you have kids and we’re together for a long time. I see no reason. But if your past mean that much to you then you can have that without me has been my stance.

Married 17 years, together for over 20, with two tween kids. She cheated and said and did a lot of other things to make me question whether she ever really loved me or was just using me for most of our relationship. I wish I could look back on my marriage and appreciate the fond memories and be able to share those with my kids, but my ex made all of it feel like a complete lie.

When I found out about her long-term affair during our divorce, I told her I wish I could never see her or talk to her ever again and that we would have the absolute bare minimum of contact needed to parent our children. I didn’t say it to hurt her, I wanted to clearly set expectations.

When I moved out into my new home, I took nothing that she gave me or that had any sentimental value from our relationship. At one point during the move, she noticed that I hadn’t packed a travel mug she had made for me with photographs of our kids on it, which was my absolute favorite possession in the world. She asked me why I hadn’t packed it, and I told her I didn’t want anything in my new house that reminded me of her and that I would erase her completely from my life if I could. That was the first and only time I ever saw her express any sort of grief or sadness over our breakup.

I don’t know what she did with her rings or the other jewelry I gave her, but I assume she sold it or will in the future because it is worth a lot. I presume that she still has our wedding album, but wouldn’t care if she didn’t. I threw away every physical photograph of just her and me, and facial recognition technology made it easy to do the same with my digital pictures, including the spicy photos and videos she made for me. I have saved in a shoebox and in an electronic folder pictures of the kids that include her, which I will give to my kids if they want them.

She moved out two years ago. The divorce was final just before Thanksgiving. There is a favorite picture of mine where we were together and when the camera came out, she turned and looked at me so lovingly. The thing is, way back when the picture was taken, the problems were obvious. She just never was happy with me. Always seemed to be pissed about something. I remember when we got that picture developed, and I thought how much I wished it really was like that in our marriage.

I still have all the pictures from everything. All of those moments are a part of my life and I don't want to throw them away. Some of them help me remember the pain I went through with her regular disappointment in me as her husband and it helps me to move on a little bit at a time.

Truly, what you do with your pictures, momento's, etc. is no ones business but yours. If you want to know if you SHOULD keep them, ask yourself honest, hard questions about how they actually make you feel and if that's healthy. Maybe it's fine, or maybe it's you holding on to the past in some way. Fear of moving on is hard to get over.

I have some.

I deleted all the sexy pictures right away. I deleted some pictures of us that were too recent and bothered me to still have.

The rest of the pictures from our 14 year relationship I still have. We have kids, at the very least they may want some of these in the future. Further, I'm not really sure if it's good for me to just try and delete my record of my life.

I still have a little gift my wife gave to me that said “I hope this reminds you that someone loves you.” I’ve never opened that plastic baggy, used the charger, or anything. Out of everything I own, it’s the only thing I consider sentimental about.

Just a reminder of my humanity.

I burned them all in a rusty 55 gal drum as I watched, smoking a cigar and sipping on a glass of whiskey the day the divorce finalized.

No kids.

She was a cheater. No reason to keep them to look back and reflect on a fraud.

I downloaded all the pictures of my ex wife, put them on a flash drive and gave one to each of my sons. I then deleted every picture of her or us that were taken over 25 years of marriage and 30 years together. I sat in the backyard by the fire pit one night and burned everything. Pictures, cards, love notes, clothes, tax papers. I haven't spoken to her for 7 years. Have only seen her in court. She tainted every good memory I had of our life together. She for sure didn't give the ring back. I hope never to interact with her again.

Not on my phone, but since I can search through the Photos app better on my laptop by events and person, yes, I hid every single one of them. If it was a family photo, I debated what to do with it based off of how prominent she was in it. Many times the more recent photos had her on the outskirts so I simply cropped her out. The physical photos I kept up for about a year and simply replace them with the holiday photos that we normally take that were just me and the kids or my extended family.

I don’t want to look, talk, or engage with her in any way outside of what I have to for the kids. They have family pictures up in their room with her in it and I have no problem with that. I’m just not going to decorate my house with her presence. She lost that privilege with her choices and betrayal.

You gave back the ring? Your a different kind (in a good way). I think it's a type of person thing. I'm a romantic and just went through a messy divorce where my wife went to town on everything she could possibly say bad about me. Still love her still keep the pictures. I can't say it's healthy.....but I'm ok with it!

I’ve been divorced for almost 10 years. We didn’t have kids together after being married 12 years (together 15). I just recently threw the things in my home away: wedding album, cards, etc. )I didn’t realize I had them, came across them cleaning my basement out). I pawned my ring like 1.5 years after the divorce. Gave my dress away for free on Facebook. My parents do have a box of our wedding items at their house that I brought over during our divorce, it has more pics and another album. I have yet to go over and go through it. Not sure if I want to… ever. lol.

I am remarried. My husband has one daughter. We won’t have kids. We have a few pics of kiddo with her mom & dad together when she was a baby in her room. I put them on her collage board. Doesn’t bother me. He has a past. Is what it is. No one is perfect. Kiddo deserves to know they were happy and in love at one time. But now she knows why her dad left so many years later as she’s grown up…

Anyway… nothing wrong with keeping things. And don’t let any future partners say otherwise cause that’s just hogwash.

At the moment, I have no intentions of deleting social media pics of us or tearing up all the photographs.

My marriage has been a huge part of my life for three decades. I’m sad it’s ending, but I’m not looking to erase my past.

Yes, for our kids to look at if and when they want. Plus it wasn’t worth the hours to go through the 30,000 pics I have on my phone.
