What strikes me the most isn't even the gender disappointment itself. People can have irrational emotional reactions, and that's something they may need help processing.

What I find disturbing is that a post expressing resentment toward an unborn child because he's male, admitting to negative beliefs about men, and even asking whether anyone decided to abort over the baby's sex, is largely treated as normal and sympathetic rather than being seriously challenged.

If the sexes were reversed—a father saying he dreaded having a daughter, believed women were less intelligent, had been teaching his son those beliefs, and was asking if anyone had aborted because the baby was a girl—I doubt the reaction would be nearly as understanding. Most people would immediately see it as deeply concerning.

Empathy is important, but so is consistency. Sex-based prejudice shouldn't become acceptable simply because it's directed at boys or men.
If these feelings don't change, then the best solution may be to place the child for adoption. Every child deserves parents who genuinely want them, regardless of whether they're a boy or a girl.

As a father to a daughter, I understand and weep at the awareness of the shortcomings of Patriarchy. I'm also aware of the danger male predators represent in the world to women. I'm a Cultural Anthropologist who has studied ancient humans. There is no doubt that Matriarchal societies experienced times of peace, prosperity, and growth. Then we can see the shift to patriarchy and war, famine, and destruction persist.

My father died when I was 9 years old, and my mother was the one to raise me from then on. I am a proud Divine Masculine. This means I have found balance between my masculine and feminine energies. This translates into having more calm, patience, empathy, and desire to understand the other person.

Now, as you read in the ladies' posts, they are lacking empathy for the human growing within them and simply label them before they have had a chance. I think that's how a lot of men are feeling these days. This simply demonstrates the other side of the coin where a woman can also exhibit Masculine energy. To resent the idea of a child being a boy is not an act of grace, empathy, or understanding. Men and Women have both masculine and feminine energies.

When a person is gifted with a child, and they happen to be a boy, we have the opportunity to raise him to be wise and see the benefits of seeing women as equals and even to submit to them at times because they have a way to make a tough man gentle. Just as a man can help his lady be bolder, more of a risk-taker.

By a woman teaching their daughters that men are less than women is the exact same egregious behavior we are trying to educate out of men. I also hear so many women say things like "Men aren't masculine enough these days, they're too feminine" or "There are no good men out there".

If a mother is raising a son while hating men, she might be the one who produced a man who doesn't know how or is afraid to be more masculine because it's just labeled as toxic masculinity, and so he is ashamed of being a man.

What we need is to help each other genuinely. I am holding a free webinar next week to educate men on what a good man looks like and how to grow in their strength. When I say strength... A truly strong man is gentle and helpful. Intelligence and violence do not go together.

Men need to hear that people believe in them. Believe they can grow as a collective. Otherwise, if you keep telling a boy or man they aren't any good, they will likely manifest that reality.

Where did I claim this? Again, I responded to individuals about their proposed intrusive government policies to prevent sex selective abortions. This wasn’t even about abortion in general.

but you have to understand WHY they reject the group of men. i'm not saying it's RIGHT. but you guys have a very bad track record to women that is ongoing and as rampant as ever all over the world. of course, i don't think a woman should choose to have a baby with her husband if she knows that there's a half chance she'll be completely disgusted by something as trivial as the gender of the baby. but outside of that, women have been killed and raped by men just for being women since the dick of dawn. put yourself in our shoes for a moment.

and that said, i'll just clarify again that there are crazy and extreme things that these people on reddit have said about half the world's population, men. your subreddit is also full of the same thing, just for women. you can't turn around and suddenly expect women to advocate for your 'rights' when you want to take away their reproductive rights, some want to take away voting rights, gender pay gap and many other things.
