I would be fine with before picture to be honest as it's not a turn off (but not necessarily a turn on) but if it made her happy I don't see why not (provided they are generally safe and successful).

How safe are these surgeries by the way? That would have to factor in as well. Afterall, if (for example) these type of surgeries are unsafe I would argue against it.

I consider the left pic to reflect a better case scenario for having kids in the modern world. That’s actually pretty great for 5 kids which the pic says she had. Could be much much worse. I would be unlikely to leave my wife if I had one for looking that way because I’m aware enough to know that’s the future I’m signing up for. That’s the price you pay for kids. I’m also unlikely to get a better looking woman anyways once my wife looks that way.

I may very well prefer my hypothetical wife not have kids for unrelated reasons, but if we’re not having kids marriage doesn’t make much sense to me.

I’d probably rather avoid expensive surgeries with questionable aesthetics outcomes but if my wife was really begging for it and we could afford it responsibly (leftover income after mortgage, cars, insurance and hefty retirement savings) then I’d do it. Would not want to go into debt over it though kids are expensive af.

Stretch marks and sagging breasts are part of the territory when a woman gives birth so I'm not really a huge fan of the "mommy makeover." My problem with the before picture is that she's clearly not dealing with body fat beneath her stretchy skin that's definitely necessary during a pregnancy, not so much afterwards. You can deal with that without surgery if so inclined.

The girl on the left is not an image of laziness. She is fine in my book. I would not leave my partner if she looks like that.

I've had two kids and went back to normal after a few months with the first second took longer over a year but I had two in two years. She's obviously had quite a few but I've seen much worse damage. A lot of it isngenetics and skin elasticity.

What kind of completely-nuts question is it; I couldn't sleep for 2 days after getting my cavity filled, and squeaked like a little bitch caught in a bear trap when I was getting a mole removed. Why the Hell would I, a person with super-low pain tolerance, encourage, coerce, ask, or force someone else to have a huge chunk if their skin cut out and sewn.

If it somehow happened, then the person I'm married to contributes something INSANELY more important than their mere good-looking body to the relationship (I've had my load of failed marriages where I assessed the importance of sex with a huge error).

I don't like the term "laziness", because it's a universal vice; we all are. I'd call it "poor discipline".

My opinion on her having or not having children doesn't matter, according to the law. She can have 10 thousand abortions or give birth to three sets of sixtuplets, she isn't even obliged to use my sperm for the latter.

I'm not against adoption in general. One of the very few ways to become a legal parent that requires my consent.

I didn’t marry my wife because of her body, so changes in it have not affected my feelings for her.

Though she had the type of body that many men desire when we were younger and kept it for quite a while, it was never what I would have considered to have been my “type” when I was foolish enough to have one, and it was not a very important part of my attraction to her.

As it happens she has grown wider and thicker and less firm over the years having borne 5 children and just generally aging. I am as sexually attracted to her now as I was when we first met and she was substantially more lithe and toned, perhaps even more sexually attracted actually.

What makes you think the impact of pregnancy was so heavy to her for no reason? She was never very good looking, her body was never very feminine, when she got pregnant, she put on a lot of weight, her boobs got destroyed and her belly too.
What makes you think the impact of pregnancy is also part of women's genetic fitness? If pregnancy makes a woman so much worse looking, maybe she's just not genetically fit. Why should men pay to compensate for the shitty value she brings? :)

No, I picked my wife knowing pregnancy won't affect why I'm attracted to her. And I was right, she got prefnat, and her body is still ok to me. I was never lured by clothing or make-up, I always looked directly at body types and face features, I'm attracted to my wife not because she was young with a good elastic skin and low body fat, but because she had all the feminine traits I cared about and that won't change.

That's a possibility. My wife has a specific condition that makes it very likely to get twins or other complications, I would rather not have to risk this. She's definitely fat. yes, the picture on the left reflects laziness, yes I'd probably leave my wife if she looked like the "before" picture, and probably if she looked like the "after" picture depending on if she makes an honest effort, and yeah, I'd rather we adopt or not have kids, not because of her body (never really thought about it that way to be honest), but more of personal protection. I've seen statistics say that divorce court tends to be less bias against men when the child is adopted.

If as a couple you don't plan or/and can't afford to pay for the recovery then you should not have children. There are studies that indicate that if the mother is unhappy after pregnancy she will offer less affection to the baby and the child will grow up with hormone problems. It's in the interest of the father for his child to be healthy so it is obligatory for him to PAY UP.
