What is “Entitled” in the context of this sub?

I'm not even sure anymore, many people on reddit use the word "entitled" but, then they cannot even properly define it.

You're not entitled to a tall man, you're not entitled to a girlfriend, you're not entitled to a rich man, you're not entitled to monogamy.

None of these are entitlements but, I guess in the context of reddit any want or desire that goes unrequited is considered an entitlement on here.

Entitlement doesnt mean "you want or desire something more than I approve of" or "standards". Entitlement means that you have a right and someone has a DUTY to ensure or provide the contents of that right

I am "entitled" to the rent from my tenants, they have a legal duty to tender it and I can sue them if they dont

Really really wanting to only have an LTR with a virgin doesnt create any entitlement

At most, people see people whining about their unfulfilled desires as exhibiting a SENSE of entitlement

Honestly entitled has come to mean “disappointed that your desire wasn’t fulfilled.” There are definitely guys who truly feel entitled, but the vast majority of the time the term is used, it’s to chastise a guy for feeling sad that his feelings weren’t reciprocated.

Sounds like bad English and the assumption that expectations = entitlement or desires and wants = entitlement.

People feel awkward when someone wants something from them that they dont want to give and that pressure is definitely icky.

Like "A husband isn't entitled to sex." You kinda go, well yeah of course, otherwise you're a bit rapey so most husbands won't be rapey. But youre also married so yeah, he's entitled to have sex in a monogamous marriage where you've actively set boundaries of not fucking others. That's just called responsibility.

People just use that to get out of what's reasonably expected of them.

I hate the word and the use of it here. It has a specific connotation which is negative but there are men here who use it to mean anytime someone expects something even reasonably. I don’t think in the contexts for which it is used in gender relations that is typically what is meant. I think in such contexts the speaker usually means the expectation is unreasonable or you should not feel it is owed to you.

Overall I dislike its usage because I believe people bastardize it to cover shit I would not associate with such a negative connotation.

It's supposed to describe guys who can't accept that their attributes are not considered attractive by the women they want.

The guy doesn't think the government is under oath to mail a horny woman to his doorstep. It's "entitled behavior" though, in the sense that the guy acts as though a certain girl not wanting to be with him just isn't an option. We should probably just be using the word "pushy" or something instead.

People like to use the term "feeling of entitlement". You can argue that if a person desires something, then they feel entitled for that and that would make it possible for people to bully other people based on their desires.

It's a thing not only in this sub. Like, look at r/niceguys.

To me, entitled means "I should get X without having/giving up Y to compensate or justify getting X"

Examples:

"I'm a 'nice guy', so she should sleep with me despite me not having any traits that inspire sexual attraction"

"I'm a woman so I should get [insert whatever she wants from men here] simply because I'm a woman"

"I want a beautiful, low N-count, submissive STAM despite only being the Fortnite king and having a minimum wage job"

"I want a man who makes six figures despite not having any qualities or talents that would facilitate and maintain his work/finances or keep the home in order"

Personally, when I use it, I specifically mean "a feeling of being owed something which you haven't earned, reciprocated, or otherwise won the right to have," but that's just me. It's a word that's easy to warp and misinterpret according to one's agenda.

In this context it means you feel like members of the opposite sex should service you the way you want: dating, sex, etc. there are no specific NAMES of which women are supposed to take one for the team and fuck the incels or whatever: they are nameless faceless fuckdolls that men DESERVE by virtue of being BORN. They must all be modelesque 19 year old white females.

In real life, no person is entitled to anything from anybody else. Those women have names, each and every one, and they can choose who they fuck, date, etc.

Sounds like the right definition. People get confused when you show that some people act entitled, when they do not believe that is entitled behaviour.

I think people do mingle the term with demanding though. When one is demanding it also implies they are entitled since they think they have a right to all the things they ask for.

It is pretty common to see people demand that anyone they consider have, a great job, a car, etc. Some think these should be a minimum, and it might seem demanding to some, and give the perception the person feels entitled.

In the context of this sub and the internet, it means that a man who doesn't get what he wants still wants it and how dare he. Plenty of men and women are entitled and it's just seen as a part of the social fabric without question. Women get a huge break with this and people often speak on their behalf, or they speak for themselves, about how oppressed they are because they don't get X type of guy or X treatment from society.

Female entitlement is when they downgrade themself and then expect an upgrade. Example, has kid by Chad or Tyrone and then expects husband with 100k + salary. Male entitlement is expecting women to fuck you that you dont and will never care about or thinking you can get a 10 as a 5.

It's a loose definition and in the context I've heard- the word usually means you are acting like you deserve something that you really don't. Most of time when it's used- I get the impression the person using it has no problems getting what they want. They just don't want to go out of their way to appease you or fix the problem, so the easy solution is to just call the other person entitled. Although I would say, in reality, people aren't entitled to certain things, but I don't think it is entitlement to just "want" those things. This is where I think the disagreement comes in.

"Entitled" has devolved into a bullshit buzzword of progressives, so it oftentimes doesn't really mean anything except "I am woke and dislike that person".

Kinda like "Big Red" (the ultra-aggressive feminazi - yes this word fits here - who has become a meme because she was such an idiot) calls a guy (who is trying his hardest to be polite) "Mr. Entitled" because he attempts to interrupt her stream of profanity.
