It would depend on what kind of mood I am in, how he asked, what else I am doing at that moment, the stages of the moon, etc. 7 times out of ten I would probably do it cheerfully enough, 2 times I would probably be a little annoyed but do it anyway, one time I wouldn’t do it because I am lazy or because I am irritated with him for something.

Make him a sandwich? I would make fun of him first, of course, and force him to compliment me repeatedly while eating it. We take care of each other all the time. We’ll request things from each other and then make a case for why we deserve the other one to do the thing and then thank the other person dramatically.

Edit: I REFUSE to even touch mayo. I have many, many times made him a sandwich and then told him he had to apply that nasty shit himself. Ugh. Death to mayo.

im constantly offering him food he rarely gets a chance to ask me for anything but when he does i jump to do it. i pretty much serve him all day though, thats just how our relationship is. mostly i jump to bring him sodas when i hear his straw rattle (he doesnt have to ask) and make cigarettes for him

I would love to and I would just do it and ask him what kind he wants. I would do all the little things that make it average to gourmet. I love to show love through baking and cooking, and my bf actually cooks for me a lot so I am always glad when I have a chance to do it for him.

If he’s asking me politely, and we have the ingredients to do so, I’ll do it and also make myself one while I’m there.

Similar to how if I ask him to get me a glass of wine politely, he will get me one, and grab himself a beer or something while he’s there.

ETA: this is also true of the reverse... if I ask for a sandwich or if he asks for a drink.

My husband and I are both tea drinkers. We request the other to make a cuppa at least twice a day.

We also have to eat at least a couple of times a day. Crazy as that seems only one of is at a time prepares the meal.

If one day he said to me, 'make me a sandwich woman' I'd wonder how he got wind of that dated internet insult that guys used to hurl at women invading their video games spaces, and I'd laugh.

I just got done making him one, he was out watching the new Star Wars movie and came home hungry right as I got done wrapping kid presents. Ham and brie with deli mustard on keto cloud bread. It's not a big deal. A sandwich is not exactly physically or emotionally draining, why wouldn't I want those low effort marriage brownie points?

Ok so we never really have bread in unless we are planning on soup. The closest we've ever got to this is him exclaiming he's hungry because for whatever reason I havn't already made lunch. He uses roundabout speak a lot (Like exclaiming he's hungry rather than asking if I have any plans for lunch/asking for lunch/getting himself lunch) which drives me up the wall sometimes but you learn to deal. I do mealtimes and usually we'll get our own snacks.

I'd probably make the sandwich unless I was in the middle of something.

This would be out of character for my relationships with men.

Typically, the conversation would start with us trying to figure out lunch. It's 2 PM and we're both hungry, so he'd bring it up, or I would. If he's busy/in the middle of something, I'd offer to make us lunch. But tbh, 8/10 times, we'd both just make lunch together: prep at the same time, and then as I assembled, he'd start putting stuff away. I can't fathom a situation where any man I'm with would ask this of me in the circumstances of the OP.

But that's not to say I don't make food for my partners in other circumstances. For example, one of my girls just got back into town last night. It was 11 PM and she hasn't eaten since lunch (airport travel + short layover), so she asked if I could make food while she was Ubering home. I threw together a meal and made extra so that when our third got home at 3AM, she'd have food, too.

Unless I really dont feel like it, I'd say sure. Because I can ask him the same any time and he'll do it (or out of self initiative), but neither will take offense if we're just too lazy to do it either

I might say "just go make it"though not because of gender offense or anything but because I mostly dont get why youd ask someone else to do it if were both sitting right there and you can just do it yourself

Saturday just been? I look up from the writing I am doing and remind him we have not shopped for some time due to the heat wave that has just ended, and therefore there is no bread in the house until our routine quick shop on Sunday. I offer to grab juice, cheese and crackers from the kitchen in about however many minutes will bring me to a natural break point in my work.

It really depends, if I was already up and was getting something for myself absolutely. If we were just sitting down and relaxing and he would have to extend the same amount of effort as I would then he could go get it himself.

I don't know. If I also feel like a sandwich, I'd make one for him and for me. But unless I know it's been a really long day for him or he's tired or stressed, I'm not gonna make him a sandwich and I wouldn't expect him to make me a sandwich. Everyone should make their own sandwiches.
