I lived and worked there for a few years... There's a reason why the trains have women's only cars. The amount of groping is outrageous. I've seen men jacking off with their hands in their pocket staring at women. I've said something multiple times when I've noticed, but the gaijin (foreigner) hate is strong. You'll see grown men reading hentai with images portraying prepubescent girls getting raped (insert incel: "she may look ten but she's a thousand year old dragon in a girl's body so it's okay". Yeah okay pedophile.)

My friend came to visit and wanted to head to Tokyo, so we did to check off things on her list. One of them was a sex shop that was multiple stories (like five floors? I can't recall). Anyway, we're looking alone and she asked me to translate stuff and the one thing I'll never ever forget is the Fleshlight marketed as a 7 year old's vagina. I was entirely emotionally done with that country after that.

A lot of my work was translation and prepping people for conferences or presentations or conversations. I had women tell me about being passed up for promotions because they were women. One told me she'd never get married or have kids even if they never promote her to manager because she had to watch her best friend get bullied into a "mother's retirement". They literally give women who get married/pregnant more work than humanly possible, publicly insult and degrade their work until their mental health stuffers enough for them to quit.

I once got a yeast infection and never having experienced that before I was worried it was serious. I went to the hospital to their gyno department - only men. Since my medical vocabulary was limited I brought a friend. The doctor, one at first, listened to my concern and then asked to do an exam. I was sat at the gyno chair and then a curtain was pulled over my hips so I couldn't see anyone in front of me. I was like excuse me? Wtf? My friend explained it's shameful and embarrassing without it. I was horrified but was gonna shut up and deal with it. Then, from the gap in the curtain I saw six pairs of shoes. No warning when he inserted that cold contraption into me. His comment: "you're pretty tight for a white girl"....cue MULTIPLE men behind the curtain laughing. My friend didn't see anything wrong with what happened and said it was a compliment. I was so traumatized after that. When I shared the experience with another friend of mine, she told me she goes to a gyno center that's only for rape victims (even though she's never been raped) because the doctors are gentle, respectful, and don't use a stupid curtain and no men are allowed.

That's the tip of the iceberg of women's life in Japan

Edit: words and just a side note on the gyno center for rape victims, there was already a two year wait list when I tried to call and schedule a check up.

To add to your story about the multi-story building, my friend lived in Japan for 10 years. She said she took a friend to one of the floors but eventually went to another floor out of boredom and stumbled across what I’m about to tell you. This floor had TVs playing videos of small children on a beach. The young girl (had to guess 5-7 years old) was just walking in and out of the water. The person filming it was taking view points of someone that’s not a parent, clearly. It was like the Cuties movie on Netflix. Lots of long camera pans up and down her legs, private area, abdomen and chest area.

She realized wtf it was, started shaking and crying, grabbed her friend from the other floor and told her not to buy anything from that building, and got the hell out.

I asked how the hell they can get away with selling shit like that and she said it’s a legal gray area. It’s not porn with explicit images but it was very clearly made to be consumed by pedos

Japan gets internationally lauded for its low crime rates, including crimes of a sexual nature, but in reality sex crimes there are horrendously underreported. There's a shit ton of pedophilia and human trafficking going on.

These men are from the same country/culture that carried out the Rape of Nanjing and we're all supposed to believe that Japanese men are docile and harmless? Nah. First of all that's racist and plays into the stereotype that Asian men are feminine. Secondly, men the entire world over are awful. Don't be fooled and don't sip the kool-aid. If you want to lose all faith in men and get some insight into how Japanese culture encourages people to look the other way AND how its criminal justice system allowed one of the biggest miscarriages of justice imaginable, read about the rape, torture, and murder of Junko Furuta and the slap on the wrist her murderers got.

If they'd filmed half of what they did to Junko Furuta and put it up on pornhub, men all over the world would have eagerly masturbated to it and would have decried it being taken down in the purge. 99% of men are seriously sick and lack empathy. Nothing is more important to them than themselves and their sexual gratification.

If a man watches porn, drop him immediately.
