I will say a lot of men AND women on this platform are bitter and give horrible advice, but one thing I think most men are unaware of is the female need for safety. Almost anything is justified under the guise of “protecting herself”. This stuff goes so much deeper into biological differences but even saying that might get my comment removed by the fascist bots. No one today is allowed to challenge the cultural ideology which is really a religion in all but name.

Yeah my ex tried to do this. Luckily for me she’s an awful liar lol and was pretty easy to figure out. Women just don’t care, once they have made up their minds that they’re the victim (whether legit or not), anything they do is justified to them

Idk. I feel like I don’t really care if she did/does that.

She decided to sleep on the couch for the last few weeks and I…. Idk. Don’t care. I slept on the couch for a year so if she wants to experience that, fine.

If she wants squirrel what tiny amounts of extra money we have, fine. (She could just get a job and split her paycheques or something ).

I’m so tired of the drama that I feel like I just don’t care.

My ex actually told me we had a chance and she wanted to go on dates with me again, it was just her way of buying more time. I was excited to take her to dinner on a date one night after finally convincing her to get a sitter, and at that dinner in the middle of the restaurant is where she told me she wanted to divorce, then she proceeded to tell me the whole timeline she had planned for when I would move out, etc.

So, I'll give two answers to this, one that will probably get flaming spears and stones thrown at me, but hear me out....

I speak from experience with my stbxw, on the one hand, the advice given is sound.

If that lady was in fact dealing with a true narcissist (or BPD, ASPD, psychopath, etc.), that is what anybody leaving that kind of relationship needs to do.

You have to have your shit lined up and ready to execute before you do anything, because the truly disordered people are anti-tank mines, just waiting to be triggered, and a disorganized, fumbled attempt to leave can be literally dangerous, especially with a woman dealing with a guy.

Now, all that said....

If she was with a true narcissist who was really that bad, she wouldn't be waiting four years to get out.

She'd be getting her shit in order and heading for the exit at the first viable opportunity, which might be a few months, but she wouldn't be calmly biding her time for four years.

Establishing that he is the abusive one in order to justify how pure evil and horrible she is about to be. If he is not abusive then that means everything she is doing is of her own volition.

“It’s his fault I’m doing all this.” Meanwhile, “he” is probably busting his arse for the next 4 years doing everything he can to support the family. No girl, they are your thoughts and feelings you are pure evil. They just will never come to terms.

Yeah. It’s kind of crazy how long women plan divorces for.

I’ve always felt like the people screaming narcissist are the true narcissists. I also don’t like how overused the word is when half of the people don’t know what it truly means to be with one. We’re all human and we all have narcissistic tendencies at some point.

My ex labeled me as one. About 9 months after we separated she finally admitted that she was wrong. Considering I gave my entire life to my children once she left… I’d think I’m the complete opposite.
