I wasn't going to go through my phone and delete thousands of pictures, including many with my children. Instead, I used the feature on the iPhone that keeps that person from being featured on your memories. On any picture of your wife, click the symbol in the upper right corner<Remove From Featured Photos. The phone will do the rest. The pictures are still there, but they won't pop up in memories.

Keep them stored deep in a folder on a computer. You never know when any of these pictures can be useful, especially on a messy divorce where false allegations can be made.

Ita a good question.. i have a tub or two of hundreds of pics.. with the ex and the kids and me.. Im still not sure what to do.. the ex after seven years has finally decided she'll agree to terms after dragging it out forever... Shes now literally planning on marrying someone else the day after divorce is settled.. to a guy that shes known for a month.. I dont care, aside from how itll affect the 3 kids..whom are primarily with me.

Put them on a hard drive and keep them. There will come a point in your life where they will amuse you believe it or not although that seems impossible now. And if she was a looker and you have any pictures or videos of her blowing or screwing you, be sure to keep those too, they will amuse you even more in old age. She was a part of your life and it was not all bad. People change. Good Luck.

My stbxw stole my personal hardrive with all my pictures and electronic documents the night before she filed a fake restraining order. My divorce is nothing but extremely toxic and I can't tell you my true feelings but let's just say I'm still here because I have 3 young kids.

I don't talk to her period. I blocked her and deleted any picture that I still had left of her. Pretend she is dead. It's the only way to heal.

You can upload them to shutterfly to an album and never look at them. That way you still have but they don't have to be on your phone.

Put them in a folder on Google or outlook…whatever you have for email. Then talk to a counselor and sort it. You can’t really outrun your past and may want them someday as a reminder of some good days or bad.

I deleted all my pics....I save a few hardcopy from over the years abd just threw them in the safe....time will tell what I'll do.

I highly recommend that you save those photos on a Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, etc...

I have kids, I dont know what they'll want to see later. Their entire life, day by day, was chronicled by their mom and I. I think they deserve to see those memories someday. I'm waiting until its over and I've let my emotions settle before I make a decision

I was able to filter most of the pictures popping up on memories by going into the settings and taking her face/name from what I see in memories I see on notifications. Give it a shot. I still catch a glimpse of her every now and then but it's ok. I need some exposure therapy to help get over my ex.

I assume these are digital photos? You're 31, so I'm assuming yes. Old Dude here; I had film negative and prints to deal with from the old days. They take up space and they're hard to manage.

Anyway, if they'll all digital, here is a great solution: Back them up on some external hard drive or USB stick (or even the cloud). If an external hard drive, maybe make two copies.

Maybe even consider putting them all into one archive, which can be password-protected, if that's a concern.

Then, just put it away somewhere and delete the originals.

You won't be tempted to look at them when you're bored (unless they're easily viewable on the cloud); if they're in an archive on an external drive, you have access to them if you really want to see them. But they're not so easy to get that they become a distraction.

Remember, time plus tragedy = comedy.

Also, learn from my mistake. I threw out lots of things in anger which I'll never get back and sorta regret it now.

Put ‘em in a box in the basement. Put digitals on a storage device, flash drive or whatever, and put in basement. Just because they were a part of your life doesn’t mean you have to have constant reminders of how fucked it all became. Do yourself a favor and get them far from sight. Get it off your phone.

Sorry she went nuclear on you. Fucks up the good memories. Get rid of reminders until a few years + from now when the acrimony is over you can decide if you want to look at em.

My heart goes out to you, brother. My STBXW did a 180° and is a completely different person from the woman I married. We were together for 9 years and had just "celebrated" our 4th anniversary a week earlier.

I've since come to realize that that woman is going to be in some of my most precious memories - me graduating university, holding my niece hours after she was born and the birthdays that followed, the day my family had to put down our dog that we had had for 14 years, she had even performed at my aunt's funeral. Hell, most of my family still has our wedding pictures up because we haven't had any major occasions for family photos.

As for the pictures I had a hard time deleting/deciding what to do with? I've achived them on social media where possible, hidden folders on my phone/PC, another trick for the albums on my phone is to "copy" a warning sign into albums with her, and set that as the cover picture so that I won't see her face on them in passing.

This is my own personal take on the pictures; I have them, and until I am confident that I can go through the albums without becoming overwhelmed, I'm not even deleting the over 1GB of pictures from the wedding and engagement. When I'm ready to sort out the ones that I want, I will. Until then, I have them, but they're out of sight and out of mind.

Archive them in a folder on cloud or laptop, so that when you really need them, it’s some effort. You aren’t relapsing into them too often.

I am sorry you are going through divorce. It is a very tough time. I am going through one right now. What I did with the picture I bought an external hard drive and moved all of them every single one, moved messages and emails to the drive as well. I have family pictures of us and a few of us together. I put them in a folder on the cloud and a thumb drive. I’ll give them to my daughters when they are old enough. If it wasn’t for them, they’d be deleted. Fuck I wanna look at a mistake.

Edit: if you have any sexy pics, delete them. If anything it could be hard for you if you see them.
