So, you know how a lot of what men say about women is just bullshit and more so applies to them? I think trophy wife is one of those things. I mean, what does the average man add to a woman's life? Nothing besides giving her the ability to say she has one. Not the ability to say she has a kind, loving, capable, supportive man. Never that. Just A man. And the sad part is they aren't even hot a majority of the time because so many women are afraid of seeming shallow. So pickmes are just pampering, mothering, and sexing some 10 cent participation trophy they found at their local goodwill thinking they've won something.

Sometimes when I see shit like this, I wonder if it’s not what it seems. I wonder if somewhere in the woman’s subconscious, she knows damn well something is off (possibly some ancestral DNA? 😅), the resentment bubbles up, and this is her way of not only tamping it down, but trying to normalize his behavior via couching it in giggles, to ensure that other women accept what she does, to make her situation (that she has no intention of leveling out of) seem more ok. The posts, intended to sound affectionate, always come out sounding more passive aggressive, and the dissonance is palpable.

My partner usually makes dinner and always plans for another serving for my next day’s lunch. I usually pack it up in the morning but he goes extra when he packs it. Rolls silverware in a napkin and puts in a cold drink. It always makes me smile when I eat lunch, I feel very loved. I didn’t realize I should be whining & crying like a toddler because he didn’t put a dessert in there.

Loudly echoing throughout the break room, this grown man shouts into the phone “BABE where’s my fruit smiles, I always eat fruit smiles, what happened did you forget c’mon I always eat this for lunch?!” I feel like embarrassment alone would be punishment enough. Hear me out...

I personally would love to pack my HUSBAND'S lunch for him if our schedules worked out that way. If I ran out and he calls me on his break asking in a cute/funny 🥺 non-manipulative way where they are today and asking if I need money to buy more, I'd think it was endearing and amusing that he's so attached to his little fruit snacks and that he appreciates me doing that for him even though I certainly don't have to.

But this behavior, from her wording and from him as a BOYFRIEND, makes me think it's a slippery slope to him thinking he's entitled to her doing that kind of wifey shit and having the nerve to get pissy with her.

"STOP DOING WIFEY SHIT FOR MEN WHO DESERVE RAVIOLI IN A CAN!"

Edit: Yes, a grown ass man can pack his own lunch. But if he shows how much he loves me, demonstrates that he values me a lot, and enjoys the food I make I would enjoy preparing it for him. It's kind of like how I enjoy being picked up and carried. Am I a grown ass woman who can stand up and walk to the other room? Yes! Do I also like being treated special by my partner? Yes. Do I expect or demand to be carried? Of course not. It's just nice 😊
