Someone here once called marriage affirmative action for L/NVM men. I mean technically if we look at the reason marriage and “true love” was peddled toward women repeatedly throughout history it kinda seems accurate af, no?

The rich wanted to keep their soldiers from leaving as there was nothing keeping them there. Most males had nowhere to go and no purpose in life so began the narrative that one women should love one man for life. Giving them a reason to stay, fight and whatever. Yet males have turned this around into women desperately wanting to marry? What an interesting turn of events? I wonder why this manipulation tactic is pushed so early into a girls life if women are the ones that benefit from it the most? If we need marriage so badly why do we need to be brainwashed from the moment we learn how to count that this is what we want? Weird

I recently read this article about single women over 65

They don’t want to get remarried or move in with their partner if they were to meet someone new. While the men do because they literally need help and companionship.

The woman seem to have social lives, while being self sufficient and taking care of the household. The men do not.

I just turned 40 on Sunday. I have an amazing career, I have so many wonderful friends. I have hobbies, I have a great stylish house, and I started dating the most amazing man 4 months ago. Because I have been particular about the men that I have dated, it has allowed me freedom in my life to do the things that I have wanted to do. I can't even begin to tell you all how ridiculously happy I am. Women who focus on themselves and their happiness end up all the better for it. Not only that, the men that they attract are also far superior.

Exactly, I think what holds us back is the stupid indoctrination that a female's purpose is motherhood, so mfers always messing up your tempo with "isn't it time to settle down and get married, when are you going to have kids, what about kids and your biological clock"

I can't wait until everyone isn't forced down the single path of 'domestic life with nuclear family' as the only way to live life

Im 65. I have an active, fun, social life. I date multiple men at the same time. My phone is constantly chirping.

My biggest problem is them trying to tie me into commitment. Nope. Not happening. I need my space. I enjoy my alone time too much.

After I (28F) found FDS last year, I’ve talked with my mom (64F) about everything. She loves our discussions because I’ve finally broken free of my pick-me mindset and am calling out the BS for what it is, and actually aligning better to the advice she’s given me concerning men. I’ve helped her start to see the full picture of being a woman in modern society too, and avoiding men who want a nurse or a purse when she feels comfortable to date again will be the chief concern!

She’s a catch, and she’s come to me to make sure I’ll help her discern those men from the high value men. We will stick together, because she’s thriving and I’ll be damned if my mom ever decreases her quality of life again.

When I've traveled by myself, I've never run into men traveling just for fun on their own. In fact, they seem to never do anything fun on their own - just with wives or drinking buddies.

Women also don't mind traveling together whether single or married.

We just live better lives, cats or no cats.

A lot of this is because the majority of women want to get married, but it's up to the dude to propose. So if a dude is in his 40s and single its because he has not proposed to anyone, usually bc 1. Nobody wants his loser ass enough to even date 2. He thinks he's a player and has an abundance of time to keep wasting, but the reality is no decent woman would want him and he'll be left with mail order brides or gold diggers, if anything. Bc God forbid they date their own age

I hate when dudes call things like this a cope. Men don't acknowledge reality: that women in their 40's who are single are actually just successful 100% of the time, while every older man is a fucking loser. I have an HVM friend (I'd try things with him but I think I'm not feminine enough to be his type, haha) who totally agrees with this—thank god for the rare rational male.

The rest of this one niche discord I'm on, however, is full of LVMs who literally made fun of this exact tweet. It is they who are really coping and yearn for the touch of a woman. They even insulted the HVM, calling him autistic! I mean, I guess nowadays being remotely sensitive and logical means that you have "stage V autism." Astounding.

Maybe its cos men are less inclined to get help if they have mental or other problems and can hence never recover from depression, addiction, bad divorce, etc.

You see so much stories about widowed or divorced men remarrying within 6 months.

The only thing I always wonder, who's picking up these men??

I've known men who were obese, old, not-rich, got divorced and had another woman doing their dishes within months. Why?!
