FDS gets a lot of flack for stating that women should unapologetically have boundaries and standards, and only pursue men who meet them. This rage comes from a deep sense of entitlement that men have been socialised to have when it comes to being able to access women’s bodies. They feel entitled to sex for little to no effort. They feel entitled to coast in a relationship, leaving her to pick up the slack for both of them. They feel entitled to watch porn. These men also have boundaries (try telling a porn addict not to watch porn and watch them have a meltdown whilst proclaiming it’s their right to ogle other women), yet they do not believe you should have any because it doesn’t serve their interests.

Many LVM on Reddit have let it slip that the reason why they hate FDS is because we encourage women to set the bar higher and demand more from men. Instead of levelling up to try and meet the new bar, they would rather brand FDS as “toxic” because they know that if FDS spreads, their pool of women they can lure in with laundromat and walk dates will disappear. They try to make themselves out to be the true victims of those “unreasonable dating standards” to hide the fact that deep down they are enraged at themselves for not being able to match up to what we want. Men tend to externalise their insecurities which is why they tend to blame everyone else and the weather for why they’re aren’t successful at something.

A HVM will not be put off by the fact you have standards, because he will understand the importance of having them. He will recognise that the risks of dating are exponentially higher and he will be impressed that you are taking steps to protect yourself. People who react badly to your standards and boundaries prove why it’s necessary to have them, and they do not have your best interests at heart.
