I still remember the tiktok by the girl who donated a kidney to her boyfriend...and he cheated on her 😬
[–][deleted] 237 points238 points239 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
And, suspiciously, a few days after that tik tok became popular, a front page post on Reddit was about a guy saying he donated a kidney to his girlfriend who cheated. Uh huh, sure.
And of course every scrote and pickme had a lovely time bashing women in the comments.

Yes, if they apparently have the audacity to try and ask for the ring back and for date money back when they don't get sex, they should fucking return a kidney and life energy

No one here will be surprised but women make up a much larger percentage of organ donors. And especially live organ donation like the woman in the OP.
They're selfish even in death. Won't even give someone something to save a life. They'd rather it just rot in the ground.

It's exactly how women have been trained.
He abuses me.... But at least I'm his girlfriend/wife
He cheats.... But he comes home to me.
If I prove my worth... He'll propose.
If I enable, excuse, and justify his poor behavior.... He'll think I'm hot.
Women consider male validation more valuable than self-actualization. To many, it has more societal power.
[–]LeaveMeAlone__308FDS Newbie 57 points58 points59 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
This is SO true. Something my mother perpetuates too with her toxic femininity. Constantly growing up she reminded me how women have to always sacrifice, to "keep her man".
I'm still unlearning years of brainwashing. It's extremely hard but will be worth it. Keep at it ladies.
[–]seekingcodingjediFDS Newbie 15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is gold and should be on a poster. Couldn't be more accurate. And this is exactly what keeps pushing women to the back - attaching importance to male validation, when literally it does nothing for them.

I am 46 and I am just coming to terms with the fact that this is exactly how I have been my whole life. I'm so pissed at myself for allowing men to treat me like garbage and I just accepted it. So much wasted time, energy and so many missed opportunities for school, work, life. Who knows where I would be in life right now if I hadn't stuck around waiting for a man to decide if I was good enough.

Donating a kidney to a loved one in need sounds like a good thing until you scroll down and see “beast circle” and realize a lot of aLpHaS are going to look at this. Their one brain cell will gasp to life, and they’ll decide it means they should be allowed to use any woman they marry, right down to their internal organs

I'm very judgy. Why? Because I refuse to do stuff to Fuck up my body that much. I understand that there might be things outside your control but if you're a man and you do drugs, drink and put a lot of toxic shit in your body and do not take care of it while you are still healthy you do not deserve a kidney. You deserve dialisis 4 life. I've seen a wife giving part of her liver to her cirrhotic husband who always had 10+ beers in one go and partied too hard.

As a nephrology nurse I’ve seen men manipulate the women they are with into “donating” a kidney. Yet the women ? Never , not once. On the other hand, they feel like a burden taking an organ from a healthy loved one, even if it means improving their own quality of life. These women always put their loved ones first, it’s heart breaking. 😞
[–]Ivimaiden 22 points23 points24 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yikes. Not a fair comparison.
I came across this post on Instagram a while ago, in the comments a few ladies were pointing out how that wasn't equal at all, and some men complained to those women about saying that. Basically about how good women make sacrifices when they love a man.

So a comment below got me thinking about the sexes that receive the transplant and I keep getting articles saying female organs are more likely to be rejected by male bodies.
The percentage goes up or down depending on the age of the donor and the organ in question but this kind of makes me laugh for some reason.
It's like nature is saying "Don't do it sis"
Plus there was another story where a man dumped his GF after she gave him her kidney, so like...don't...just don't.
Unless it's your Dad or brother.✨ DON'T! ✨

Only if they’ve proven themselves to be decent people who have your back. A lot of immediate family members just exist alongside you and play the “but I’m FAMILY, blood is thicker than water, blah blah” card when they’re in need. Houseplants add more to your life than some family members.

My family and I have some allergies, so I’m doing a bit of research and learned that you have to be careful buying plants that are known to be good for the environment, cause it’s the females that are cleaning up your air, while the males produce and throw around a bunch of spores that aggravate your allergies. Why was I not surprised?

[–]daisy_0720FDS STRATEGY COACH 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I'm gonna throw this out there... but a HV person would not accept you doing this for them. They would literally rather sacrifice their own lives than see you put yours at risk and compromise your own quality of life. When I think of the few people I love unconditionally, not a single one of them would let me sacrifice a kidney for them.
ETA: Unless you're doing it for your children. Obviously that's a different scenario.

I know a couple where he donated a kidney to her and she is doing very well. The immune system reacts to exterior cell proteins not DNA tucked inside the nucleus (Y chromosome). I have a chronic illness which requires lots of doctor appointments and procedures. No one I've ever dated has offered to be there for me, to drive me, or even asked how it went until after I reminded them it happened at all. This really makes me wonder if he would do the same for her. There are far too many couples where she's there for him, and her mother, sister or friends are there for her. I NEVER see husbands in the waiting room. Plenty of wives though.

There was a post on FDS about a husband who got fit and healthy (to increase success rate) and gave his wife a kidney.
A husband of 20+ years (who has earned your trust and respect) is very different to a guy who just proposed. How long had they known each other for? Did he propose pre-or post diagnosis? This whole thing could be fake anyway.

Notice how they compare a kidney (something life or death) to the ring he gave her. This insinuates they’re of equal value to each person. They really think we’re desperate for their commitment and devotion. As desperate as a human is when in need of a vital organ. How is this an equal exchange?
This is the programming that we’ve endured. But we’re waking up one by one and calling their bluff. That’s like how an older kid tries to trick a younger kid into an unfair trade. They literally see us as brainless emotional fools. “I’ll give you a ring if you’ll give me your kidney” head asses.
[–]QueenEnergy4Life 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]FI-REfoxFDS Newbie 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don't disagree that statistically this is true, but I'm one person, not a statistic. Everyone woman in this community is one person with the knowledge to determine whether a particular man is worth all the mundane sacrifices of marriage, to say nothing of the big stuff like this. The big question women should ask themselves is whether the man they are considering marrying or have already married is worth this kind of sacrifice to them and if he isn't, simply don't marry him or leave.
If I determined that a particular man brings so much value to me that I am happy to continue to bind myself to him legally and emotionally, I would not stand back and watch him die in front of me, on principle, just because he has a dick. I suspect no woman commenting here would actually do this either if they found themselves in this situation.
[–]SayNadFDS STRATEGY COACH 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
If he proves after 15 years he is the real deal, then yes - it will be a noble sacrifice. But for the majority of men who will leave or cheat the instant their wives get sick - it will be a stupid move to do.
Also the men in his family should be volunteering first - gene compatibility and all that. A wife should be the very last option after all the other male donor option is exhausted. Because the health risk for female donor is far bigger than a male donor.
