Also, how young is his 'woman' at the start of the timeline if children will be in the picture. If the poor woman is 25 she'll be 36-37 by the time they're married. How many years together married (you know, to get to know each other as a married couple) before he allows for children to arrive? When the wife is already at an age to be considered high-risk for pregnancy?

I guess if he always starts the timeline with an 18 yo (know matter how old and raggedy he is) then she'll be "safe".

There is exactly one scenario when it’s ok to last 11.5 years from talking to wedding and it’s when you start out as middle school/high school sweethearts. And even then the talking stage should/could be interpreted as “holding hands/kissing but no sex”.

What???? A normal "talking" stage would be 2-4 weeks, not YEARS. I can definitely see a maximum of 3 months in special circumstances, but not much longer. I've technically been in a talking stage for two months but it also wasn't possible for us to meet in public for 99% of that time due to lockdowns so that's different. I can see it also for distance, family, and age related issues as well.

My understanding and how I've done it is that the talking stage doesn't involve sex or even a ton of intimate physical contact. It's more like "we've just started dating but we're not sure about it yet".

Also you should know about marriage in 2 years, not 5, and wedding planning is what the engagement is for.
