I used to "love sex". I would have sex with anyone I wanted to (and a lot of people I didn't want to ) because I thought that there's no harm in it. It feels good, I'm grown. A woman can have sex just like a man, right?

Now I feel like a lot of that time was wasted. I wasn't really exploring things that made me happy- I was playing a role that the people I was with expected from me. Even though I had tons of sex, I wasn't sexually intelligent. I was never totally comfortable with my body and my wants, but instead would just rush to get the guy off so it could be done. And after that? A lot of weird, useless relationships where we wouldn't talk, or would only talk when someone wanted to have sex, etc.

I posted nudes online. I thought, what's the harm? Everyone has a naked body. I may as well celebrate mine while it's young and hot. Those photos got back to my family. Luckily my parents didn't care (in the sense that they were somewhat upset, but would rather just move past it) but extended family did judge me. But so what, right? Fuck them, I can do what I want.

Now I think about what I got out of that. Validation, for a minute. There are many other girls willing to post nudes, and even if they're way prettier or way less attractive (subjectively, ofc) it doesn't matter- men will move on quickly. And what did that validation mean? That a dude jerked off to me or called me hot. What good did that do me?

And it's sad that I wasted so much of my youth on men. On being hot, on being cool, on being liberated and free and fun. The reality is those things aren't fun. Going to the clinic because you got a call from a dude saying another chick he slept with right before you tested positive for chlamydia, so you may want to get tested, but that he's not going to get checked because it's "weird"... Pregnancy scares, abortions, violent men, dirty apartments, disgusting men passed out stinking of alcohol and snoring loudly, and me trying to hold a rag under the tap of the bathtub so the water isn't too loud to wake him while I wash his cum out of me... I mean, these things are fucking sad.

So for this guy to say that women "love sex" really pisses me off. We have been conditioned to love the sexual attention that we get from men. The reality of the situation is that sex is much more dangerous for women than it is for me. Pregnancy aside, we catch STDs and get UTIs more easily, and men are dangerous. You don't know how someone is going to react if you say no. If a man can't even take you on a fucking date before he tries anal then you need to fucking bounce. The only thing that makes sex with a man better than sex with a vibrator is a deep connection and mutual respect. And this man does not respect women.

Sorry for the rant, it just got to me.
