Kickstarters don't really make mainstream news. It's a controversy magnet so I expect there to be someone to notice it by the time the film is out.

It also may help if someone posts the film's existence outside of /r/mensrights. News don't post themselves and the title may catch other Redditors' attention.

It might be getting a lot of buzz in this community, but it's small potatoes. The battletech Kickstarter raised 2.5 million this month. You don't see much about it outside of the gaming press.

they don't want to give attention to anything that will upset 3 or 4 news cycles. so they wait. they wait until it comes out and only then will they report on it. they wait for it to hit consumers to spin it their way. they wait for someone to take exception and they will report on that. they will report on someone taking exception to this vid.

I wouldn't expect it to get mainstream attention, not for political reasons though. How many mainstream news sources reported on Anita raising $160k? I don't think I've ever seen a news story that "___ is now the number one kickstarter project." Once the movie actually gets made, if it makes waves then I do think we'll see some media sources reporting on it.

guys it might be prudent to be skeptical about this whole ordeal. this is a feminist filmmaker drumming up support for a documentary about men's rights and there is very little evidence that it paints it in a positive light. furthermore the "blowback" from feminists sounds awfully fabricated. if it turns out we dumped all this money into the movie and the whole thing is trashing men's rights, we're going to feel pretty dumb.

Why do we care the red pill has absolutely nothing to do with the men's rights movements and they are not the kind of movement we would even want to be associated with.
