Does economic prosperity, higher standards of living and gender equality necessarily lead to greater promiscuity/ liberalised norms of sexuality?

If so, why is that a bad thing? Isn’t it good that people have the choice to sleep with who they want?

Cultures like the Middle East, India, China have traditionally controlled women’s sexuality. In comparison, the lives of western women seem like a dream!

My question is, in times to come, will those cultures also shift to the kind of hookup culture/casual sex norms we find here, ASSUMING they continue to log strong economic growth?

And if true, doesn’t that validate the hypergamous system as desirable, as it is the product of a prosperous and well-educated society.
