Side Note

I’ll make a stand-alone for TRP in regards to this post either at a later date, assuming no one beats me to it. I’ll also modify the language to be more in line with TRP as well.

I want to discuss genuine polyamory here after seeing it mentioned a few times, I’m surprised this has not been talked about before. But let’s start with the most important question: what the hell is polyamory?

Polyamory (from Greek πολύ poly, "many", and Latin amor, "love") is the practice of, or desire for, intimate relationships with more than one partner, with the informed consent of all partners involved. People who identify as polyamorous may believe in open relationships with a conscious management of jealousy and reject the view that sexual and relational exclusivity are necessary for deep, committed, long-term, loving relationships. Others prefer to restrict their sexual activity to only members of the group, a closed polyamorous relationship which is usually referred to as polyfidelity. Polyamory has come to be an umbrella term for various forms of non-monogamous, multi-partner relationships, or non-exclusive sexual or romantic relationships.

As per the Wikipedia definition. Now not to be confused with polygamy but I still feel that’s a valid topic as well, what do you think has contributed to the rise of polyamory or those who are at least accepting of polyamory? Do you feel the same about polygamy or do you see them as different? What impact do you think polyamory or polygamy or polyandry will have on society today?
