men are biologically more varied and lenient in their preferences

men's methods to looksmaxx are absolutely inferior in both quality (effectiveness) and quantity compared to women's

The often shared advice for women on this subreddit is choose less attractive men. The belief is that attractive men have the most options and are therefore more likely to cheat or treat you badly while unattractive men will have no options and will be unable to cheat and treat you kindly.

There are all sorts of negative stereotypes about women. That they are hypergamous and will monkey branch to higher value partners. However I have not seen the same cautionary advice about women directed at men. Surely attractive women being the most high value should be avoided for the same reasons. Men should seek out unattractive women as they will be more faithful due to lack of options and instead treat you kindly.

Instead most of the views of unattractive women tend to go in the opposite direction. With stereotypes around how unattractive women are bitter and up themselves and think they are better than unattractive men and should be avoided.

Therefore there exists a confusing contradiction in this space: attractive men are bad and unattractive men are good while attractive women are good but unattractive women are bad.

My belief is that these views are put forward because the men in red pill spaces are acting in their own self interest. They desire attractive woman and don’t want to choose unattractive women but they want attractive women to choose them. They justify this desire by linking morality with attractiveness in a strange way.

Looks don't have a palpable effect for your quality of life or for your relationship quality if you're not on either side of the extreme end of the spectrum (extremely below or extremely above average). The overwhelming majority people aren't on one side of the extreme, thus the discussion or worrying about one's appearance for that matter is pointless.

For the regular person, other factors are far more decisive in determing the relationship outcome (fulfilling or not fulfilling lasting or not lasting), such as : Competence, personality (conscientiousness, agreeableness, etc), family history, self-awareness, demographics, education and so on. Those are usually the decisive factors in leading a satisfying and healthy relationship.

Gotta quote /u/crazy_kray here again because he made such a great example why so many men are considered unattractive compared to women here.

Imagine two siblings: the brother is tall, fit, chiseled and blue eyed, his sister: legs for days, slim, defined cheekbones and blonde as well. Generally men and women will consider them conventionally attractive, perhaps even model like.

Now image another two siblings: the sister is short, has thick thighs, and bamby brown eyes - she will still be considered attractive, by women and men alike, even though her measurements are far from that of a model, but her short and stocky brother will be seen as "meh".

So we have 2 very different types of woman (short&thicc, tall&slim) that both can be in their own right very attractive to large sways of people, but only one type of man (tall&fit) fits the mold of what is seen as a generally attractive man.

This alone is the crux of the percetion that there is a "chopped man epidemic".

Bi-weekly reminder that women size up more than just a man's appearance.

They take everything into account to determine if they are interested and open to meeting that man for a romantic encounter.

Including, if that woman is even interested in meeting a man at that moment. If she's not interested in dating or men or just had a bad day, not even Pedro Pascal has a chance.

Or if the man is attractive but something on him or the context of the setting can change him from hot to not in mere moments.

For example, Pedro Pascal is wearing a Dallas Cowboys jersey and she's a diehard Eagles fan, Pedro goes from hot to not.

Men in this sub seem to ignore all the context clues given beyond someone's jawline or eye color.

Lastly, women find all kinds of men in all kinds of shapes and sizes attractive. I've never found the men my friends date to be attractive. They've never found the men I date to be attractive.
