What people like yourself fail to understand that they are so many men out there that did put effort in themselves in almost eveyrthing imaginable and still cannot get dates. I myself am to blame for my lack of succes when I was a teen cause I was not in shape, not confident, my hygiene was poor and so on. But then over time I got to the gym, got in the best shape of my life (I am 33 now and in a pretty good shape), I am financially stable but still need to raise my status though, I taake care of myself, I groom, dress well, use cologne, I am funny, have a bunch of knowledge about almost everything and can have good conversations and so on. You know where that got me? Making female friends easy, but not getting in relationship with them. Why? Cause my face is average and I am 5'3. Many people tend to think I am doing something wrong but nobody ever witnessed first hand how I am rejected and why. Men are always blamed for their failures of women but nobody stops and thinks that maybe they really lack something msot women want nowadays, and that is not under their control.

Lost over 100lb and have an average face, have muscles now, have a decent job after being promoted multiple times, take care of grooming, hygiene, skincare, dress OK (maybe need to size smaller due to lingering dysmorphia), wear good cologne, have hobbies and am well-read. However, I don't drink, do drugs, or go clubbing, so I'm invisible and boring to women in my metro.

Most of the men who fit into this category you're referring to passively don't do it because they see other men who are doing all of these things you described right now still having issues in the dating market so it turns into a cycle.

I think coming up with valid reasons for men to do these things outside of finding girlfriends or wives is the key to success here and I think that's easier said than done when that's the end goal for most men.

Men did not change completely within one generation. So if you, statistically:
1. had previous generation of men who put average/usual effort into relationships, and absolute majority of them formed families

have a generation of men that does similar or same effort, and you suddenly have SIGNIFICANT portion of men's population not forming families

... then no, sorry, it's not fault of "men putting any effort". Something else changed, and you know very well what - but your conditioning doesn't allow you to accept it, OP.

It’s not all about it looks.

There are some really good looking average guys on Reddit but they are crippling insecure and it lets them down massively. It’s about insecurity and being all well rounded mentally and emotionally.

Getting into a relationship doesn’t solve these problems. Your cup should be full - not empty or half full.

You need to learn to let go and be secure, stop blaming others and understand you feel the way you feel because you let yourself feel that way. Take responsibility on how you feel.

Yes they should because they wouldn't have that problem if women stopped pursuing the men those women want to pursue and instead pursued the men that complain about not having a partner and don't put effort into themselves or others

Women need to stop being so picky and give men they don't find physically attractive, men that don't put much of any effort into being what women currently want, men that downplay the prevalence and impact of violence against women, and men that downplay the depravity of stalkers a chance.

CMV? Even RP content acknowledges what this post says. On the flip side, when a woman has been attracted often time she puts no effort into the relationship. The counter of a man who does nothing and can’t attract a woman is a woman who does nothing for and can’t keep a man. They are both failures because of laziness and end up unfulfilled and eventually alone.

I wonder if it’s worse to have never been considered or to have many who have given a chance but found nothing worthwhile.

There's 2 sides of this issue and 1 side is what you're describing. Guys who are in every measure of their lives "losers", and I don't just mean the classic American stereotype, who complain they can't get women and that they're nice guys who aren't asking for much etc etc. That absolutely exists and you're 100% right.

The other side is the overly inflated sense of self importance and worth a lot of women have which often reveals itself as completely unrealistic standards. We've all met that woman: "I don't want much! Just a good man who's caring, charismatic, loyal, tall, making good money with his own place and in good physical shape, and funny, charming, spontaneous..." And they list all these things most men around them don't have/ are never going to have. It goes beyond having simple standards, and instead setting an impossible goal of chasing that perfect hunk you've built up from social media.

Men should still complain, because the fact that you have to be fit, put too much effort and become practically perfect in order to have the possibility to be with a fat woman who didn't put that same effort is unfair.

Also, we are all products with a price, the only way to become attractive to women is to improve your price as a product, as an object in the capitalistic sexual market, you have to pay something in order to get romantic love, this means that it's not only false that true romantic love can't be bought, but also, paid love is the only form of romantic love that exists, prostitution is the only form of sex that exists, because you have to pay for it with either money or months at the gym and improving your social skills. I'm not sure if I want that kind of "love" your promiting, if I improve myself and as a result I get a girlfriend, I'm not going to actually love her, I'm just going to use her for my benefit, because the fact I had to pay a price for her love OFFENDS ME.
