It’s a cycle where both sides will see the other being unempathetic (generous) about them and in turn be petty and vitriolic back and it just keeps going. No clue why people refuse to acknowledge issues exist for everyone, and when they do acknowledge them it’s to revel in someone’s suffering.

Both exists. Only one is accepted by the culture and sometimes even celebrated or promoted. Could you imaging Hollywood producing TV shows where the main star is an idiot woman and her husband always having to fix issues she creates? There might be an example like that I am unaware of, but it is classic that men are the idiots in the family for most sitcoms.

The definition of misogyny has expanded tremendously. Often now anyone that disagrees with a woman in good faith is called a misogynistic.

Where the hell are you getting this from? By virtue of being oppressed, that is not better treatment. It's wild to suggest facing oppression is better treatment than not facing oppression. People who are marginalized generally have worse employment outcomes as many employers choose to not hire them. While some employers have DEI initiatives, those are pretty much the exception to the norm of employment discrimination against marginalized groups. These groups generally have higher unemployment rates and are paid less for the same positions that non-marginalized people are in

The issue is people have over used misogyny so now it basically just means things women don't like. When you get to the point of calling lines for the women's bathroom and air conditioning in office buildings misogyny people stop listening.

Both exist, but operate at different levels. So society can be biased against women and against masculinity at the same time. Men simply are given more leeway as to how masculinely we can present, even if it's not wholly free from scrutiny.

actually statistical parity between men and women is impossible in a freedom of choice society... thats important because of how people measure + evaluate equality or gender imbalances to be able to push arbitary equity...

equal representation would be if conservatives stop to be conservative to reach 50-50 even if conservative women refuse to step up OR if in that example the democrats do just allow like 10% men in their party...

claiming misandry or misogyny while citing statistics is at best a disengenious base for an argument and i doubt most people have any credible proof anyways...

Both exist but it's a very circular debate, the line is blurred on what is legitimately denial of misogyny and what is a reasonable counter argument that a given instance is not the result of misogyny.

Example: I've been called a misogynist for explaining why so few rapists get convicted. I don't want to get into it here but the main conclusion was that.

The overwhelming majority of cases go unreported, an estimated 70%
It's a crime that is extremely hard to prove and it has a high standard of evidence.

It's not misogyny to say that innocent until proven guilty is how it should be. It's the foundation the judical system is built on and a fair trial is the foundamental human right of every single individual.

It's also not misogyny denial to point out how misogyny as a social issue and it's effects are very much played up. It deserves to be called out when it happens and it also deserves to be called out when someone scapegoats misogyny for something it has nothing to do with.

If you are a person with any semblence of reason in your head then you have no problems condemning sex-based discrimination whather it's misogyny or misandry. You either condemn all of or none of it.

Women play games with men they aren't really attracted to. It's the man's job to filter those women out and find the ones they're compatible with.

I think shows like Fresh & Fit where they just tear women down nonstop are counter-productive and misogynistic. You can't convince me that Myron Gaines likes women. It's one thing to call out women's bullshit, but the manosphere takes it way too far. It's not about men bettering themselves anymore. It's about putting women down so men feel better about their failures.

This is like watching the big bad wolf dress poorly in lamb skin, licking its bloody chops, and saying "I'm oppressed too. Trust me"

Something about it is so perverse and immediately makes him untrustworthy and therefore his cause untrustworthy and not my problem.

It simply doesn't make sense for the oppressor class to expect the oppressed to sympathize or extend any grace whatsoever.

So when I hear a man complain of misandry, I don't care.

I don't feel bad for them, I don't see any reason to listen to any issues because if they are willing to make false equivalencies, then if I help empower them, they will hurt us more.

That's really all it comes down to.

Yeah. Because misogyny has not stopped and continues to harm. Men are just acting confused now that they are hearing how people really feel without a filter and they're struggling with it. They were shielded from it before but we have the internet now.

Now does this mean I don't help men or hurt for men who get hurt? Not at all. I'm quite sensitive and can immediately feel for people.

But not men who deny misogyny, borrow the language of harm while defending or minimizing the source of harm to demand empathy from those bearing the cost.

Once I detect that, I no longer care to hear what's wrong and find the consequences of that framing predictable.

In fact, the harder they push, the less inclined I am to listen. I'm pretty anti-MRI but your transparency in your post is why I listened. See the difference?

One more thing. I don't think men are understanding how much the manosphere has been radicalizing the general public with it's visibility. Consider the optics of "feminism and the left pushed men to the right".

Now look at current events.

Do you think that people look at what's going on and see the values of the manopshere being a good thing for everyone?

The oppressed has to master how the oppressor thinks to survive.

The oppressor does not and doesn't realize it would need to know how to win sympathy points.

Context matters. Men aren't getting that so until they do, everyone is sinking on the same ship they steer. Many of us rather sink than save you.

Actually misogyny is mostly dismissed because its well overused in modern times. People know that misandry exists but it isn't used nearly as much for anything and everything, like the opposite word is.

Is there any religion out there that subjugates men and is wildly practiced? I grew up in a religious Christian household and was told all of my life that I was less than because I was born a woman.

Isn’t the US one of the more religious countries (I assume a lot of the posters on here are from the US)? Distrust of women is a common theme in so many religions.

I think misogyny is ingrained so heavily in all of us, that it’s hard to identify.

Some women tend to hurt their own cause by calling everything under the sun misogyny. The same thing’s happened with racism, antisemitism etc. Daring to question any aspect of feminist dogma is not misogyny. They need to pick their battles better.

You're laboring under the illusion that your counterparts would ever stop demonizing MRAs. Look at how they behave to each other, straying from orthodoxy results in denunciation.

I think that the term misogyny is extremly overused, same as the term racism, sexism etc. It doesnt exist to the extent that people claim it does. And people use it mostly to dismiss arguments. I've never ever in my life talked to a man that hates women that much.

I agree, It’s actually ridiculous, so many of these manosphere influencers are corny freaks, but have so much pull with dudes in my age pool (Gen Z). There’s a certain sub group of gen Z men that make conservative boomers look like progressives. Sigh, I fear for human relations in the future.
