The reason I don’t think it’s intentional is because the reaction to consequences is usually way too genuine. Like these people are truly shocked being a useless moron put them in a bad position. Also, a logical person doesn’t destroy the goodwill of others. Humans are social creatures. Being a pariah is extremely painful.

This is the result of stunted growth in the mind. Alot of adults are emotionally toddlers. It’s also why they act dumb but they can hold a job. They unconsciously see other adults like their mommy. If a mother is firm, a toddler will understand more. Jobs are simple: We have rules and if you break our rules, you’ll get fired.  The problem comes in when people try to treat them like adults.

Toddlers can’t be treated like adults, they’re too dumb to be. So then when someone reminds them repeatedly, have a talk with them, express how they’re hurting the feelings of others, they can’t register it. Even if it’s not “Oh no I’m being a bad person and I don’t wanna be a bad person”, they’re not registering “If I don’t change, I’m gonna lose what I want”. Toddlers in general still think about themselves. Toddlers can’t think in long term. If you don’t give consequences immediately, the toddler is not gonna register your words as a big deal.

This is why you’ll see guys saying “The breakup came out of nowhere” but it was obvious there were signs they ignored. It’s also why many of these guys will suddenly do what was asked of them when it’s too late. It’s the toddler behaving after their toy got taken away for misbehaving. Unfortunately, a normal toddler’s brain grows up and process consequences. A stunted toddler brain can’t. So even after being given a second chance, they wont learn from the consequences. And once the consequences are clearly permanent, they feel like victims and cry about how unfair things are.

So Weaponized Incompetence isn’t a thing. Those people are that dumb. At best, it’s a moron’s attempt at being manipulative, but again, they dont learn when that strategy stops working and puts them in a worse position.
