Anyway, let's talk about the impact of weight on attractiveness. Women pretend they're disadvantaged in that regard, but that's simply untrue. Being obese just stands out to them, because it is one of the very, very few things that significantly tanks a woman's attractiveness. But at the end of the day, obese men are judged just as harshly, if not moreso.

Oh and if we talk about the middle category, i.e. being (slightly) overweight, women run circles around men when it comes to perceived attractiveness, especially if the latter can't compensate via height or money. For instance this woman's body will be considered significantly more attractive than this man's one, despite both having a similar grade of overweight.

One of the most wholesome things this weekend was watching my oldest and my oldest nephew’s girlfriend spending time with my youngest nephews’s GF and teaching her about makeup tips and advice. The youngest’s is a tomboy with 2 brothers and so she was letting the two sorority girls show her how to wear makeup without looking like she’s wearing too much makeup.

Why do women always gas up their female friends and other women?

Constantly saying every girl is beautiful and is a "10" even when that clearly isn't the case? Especially since they rate men very low and talk about how their female friends are dating down.

People often bring up that incels are nowhere near as ugly as they claim. However, incels are also disproportionately shorter than average, so this is actually pretty brutal if you think about it. In a way, it’s indirect confirmation that these men would look fine and do fine if it weren’t for the fact that they are below average height.

I will never truly be comfortable or ok with going out in public and seeing almost every single man or woman have a SO with them. While I’m left wondering what it would even be like to have a woman I find attractive interested in me that way. It’s like I’m on the bench of a single A baseball team and watching everyone around me get the call up. No matter how hard I try to get called up, I’m still riding on the bench.

Ok so my experience with a few dating apps since I've been getting back out there. For reference I'm 38 and live in metro area in the midwest (almost everyone is liberal). Each of these I tried for 24-48 hours, except Hinge I've been on for a few weeks.

eHarmony: Apparently you have to pay to use the app so as soon as I matched someone, and saw I couldn't reply to them, I deleted it.

Match: Basically no good looking women. I've been on there swiping and every single woman is a behemoth. 200-300 lbs, some of them are my height or taller as well. If they aren't massive, then they look WAY older than their age. I suspect a lot of women are lying about their ages on here. I honestly think I've only yes swiped maybe 1% of the women on here.

Bumble: I tried it for a bit and got a few matches but the quality of women on here seems to be lower than I get from Hinge. I suspect the gender ratio is more competitive for men on Bumble so women are punching higher than normal.

Hinge: This seems to be the best (at least for me). I get the highest quality women from here, closest to my own looksmatch. A lot of women are sending me messages and likes first, which I can see. So far this one is turning to be the best.

This is the ideal CHAD male side profile. I'm pretty sure I got 99% of what makes a side profile attractive on a structural level (so excluding skin quality, fat, eyebrows). I feel like if you have this side profile, you're almost guaranteed to have a good front as well.

-Unbalanced Facial Thirds due to an overly tall lower-third

-Nose too upturned and notably too wide for face

-Overly compact midface

-Philtrum too short compared to chin

Final rating: 6.5/10 (falling into the top 5% of facial attractiveness) | Unfortunately, this isn't enough of a sign to tell Clavicular to leave good enough alone given what he is trying to do now.

Does looksmaxxing make much of a difference beyond the essentials and without surgery? If a guy is already lean and well-groomed with good hygiene; would improving his style, physique, hair etc actually make him significantly more attractive or is it diminishing returns unless he gets surgery?

posted this as a reply but I think it sums up how looks function for MOST modern dating outside of high school / religoius groups / tight night social circles where the same people have constant interaction and get to really know each other.

although looks aren’t the most important factor for women, women are actually far more picky about the looks type they find attractive vs men.
The physical characteristics that are viscerally attractive to women are more immutable (women place more emphasis on height, face, hair) than vice versa (as long as a women takes care of her appearance she will always appeal to a lot of men)
with women Gaining more and more independence, they can prioritize looks more as “dealbreakers” vs “nice to haves”.

1,2 and 3 have led to most men feeling frustrated in the modern dating culture as they realize that the vast majority of women will not date them purely based on qualities they can’t really control

Career, finances, and even confidence / humor / chemistry are becomes less of a factor for women choosing men. A lot of this is because women won’t even give men a chance unless they meet the looks criteria and have shut down avenues where personality/confidence has a chance to develop as mingling and approaching in the third spaces is dissapearing / approaching is stigmatized / and online methods are becoming the norm (where looks/image is prioritized)

One of the more annoying lies I notice women telling themselves on here is that looks are merely a threshold. That once met, better looks do not have greater returns. Women tell themselves this so that they don't have to confront the fact that there are men they find much more attractive than those they can attain.

Looks are a spectrum. If you put 100 women in front of me, I could easily order them from least to most attractive to me in that given moment. And the level of arousal I would feel for them would increase at every level. I would feel more arousal for the 50th percentile woman than the 25th percentile woman, more for the 75th percentile than the 50th percentile, more for the 90th than the 75th, more for the 99th than the 90th, etc.

Wish all men could spend a week in a "Being John Malkovich" type thing accept instead of John Malkovich it's an actually attractive guy so that they can see that women generally do initate with men they actually find attractive. So they could see him check his instagram and see that women will slide in the DM's of men that are hot. Just so they could stop saying stupid shit like "women should approach men." Because they assume that the women they spend money on and take out on dates and work so hard to impress would have asked them out first if it "was just socially acceptable." Those same women have no problems asking men out. They just don't look at you like that. You're not "that guy."

What if the amount of women that are mainly into looks and money is less than the amount of women into looks and personality.

Bc this is the best looking group of men we've had ever and they are struggling more. If looks went up shouldn't struggles have gone down ?

Looks and financial literacy went up but personality, insecurities, & mental health went down.

Curious how other guys have determined they're attractive on here? Alot say they are. For me it's 1. A lot of likes and matches on apps 2. Being told I'm "cute" or "attractive by strangers and acquaintances 3.A girl that liked me in high school was also like by like half the guys in our grade and she pursued me pretty aggressively

A few other things here or there too.

Looks isn't everything. Personality is just as important. Nobody is just grunting at each other until they get naked. People talk and laugh and that's what makes someone really attractive.

Obsessing over looks alone is a great way to struggle and create your own obstacles.

You'll always struggle with dating if you can't understand that looks is just a one part of the equation. No shit people want to be attracted to the person they are romantically interested. But attraction doesn't start and stop at someone's face, eyeballs, or 6 pack.
