If a man wakes up in the morning, after mutually intoxicated and consensual sex with a woman, who then they later regret sleeping with, perhaps men should start filling rape charges against women. I mean, if the feminist whole point is that sex can never be consensual if alcohol is involved, then men should take proactive measures to protect themselves. Afterall, haven't women taken advantage of inxoicated men? Can't the woman become the "sexual offender" for consensual sex too if this is the road feminists want to take?

Technically that is true. While all will not be accused, all will be exposed.

All of these things, in the opinion of Berkowitz, are violations of the rights of men accused of rape.

This article is fucking disgusting. I don't usually hate things, but I do hate Jezebel and the author that wrote this. Her sociopathic lack of care for men generally, especially when she says "boo-fucking-hoo" at the end, is really amazing to me. The amount of straw men and logical fallacies that I found in that article from just the first run through was utterly stunning. In my mind, these people are worse than islamo-fascists or other kinds of ideallogues because they don't support their views with a self-acknowledged "leap of faith" -- they honestly believe that their views are based in reality and that things like this (completely twisting the legal system to benefit one sex) are completely acceptable and that anyone who says otherwise is some kind of woman hating crazy person.

The most retarded form of argument ever invented. Even if it was a valid argument (it's not, it's just an appeal to emotion), she's arguing that men should be presumed to be rapists while women should never be presumed liars, which, in itself, is special pleading.

For those who aren't completely insane though, it generally goes like this:

Woman accuses man. Man is presumed to be innocent unless there is evidence of his guilt. Woman is not presumed to be lying, hence the launch of an investigation, but her word alone is not enough to overturn the presumption of innocence, a fundamental legal right (hell, it's even enshrined in the declaration of human rights). Evidence is either found or not, settling whose version of events is most likely true. No need to assume anyone is a rapist or a liar.

I understand where they're coming from.

It's a problem with a movement like women's rights, which did so much good in the past. There was an institution to fight. They had a concrete set of attainable (sp edit) goals. Fortunately, they triumphed. But, what's a group to do when they don't have an enemy anymore to keep them together? Invent one! We call this 'patriarchy'. Extrapolate this into 'rape culture' as well.

It'd be kinda sad, really, if it wasn't harming people.

I find most infuriating the loss of due process. A whole class of adults lose the presumption of inmocense until proven guilty in a court of law. This is really fucked up.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the VAST majority of women any of us will engage in sexual relations with will be mature enough not to cry rape after regrettable drunken sex. The writers over at Jezebel try to make every situation involving men and women rape orientated. They see life through rape tinted lenses. It wouldn't surprise me if they fantasized about it. I maintain that the best way to deal with these rape obsessed slags is to ignore them. As a non-raping male, I find all of this talk about "rape culture" and degrees of consent extremely offensive. But, instead of firing off e-bombs in a flame war that no one can ever win, I'm just going to ignore the crap out of their non-nonsensical ramblings. If they want to feel empowered dressing like sluts then bashing men for being rapists, I will find other women to hang out with that don't act this way. Women want to turn all responsibility for sex to men. The "preponderance of the evidence" standard was a throwaway for Obama to reach women voters. The article says something about "beyond a reasonable doubt." That was never the standard. It was clear and convincing evidence. The most inflammatory accusations can be made and the only barrier to saving one's reputation are the whims of college faculty, which are notoriously slanted toward feminism.
