In the USA men are raped by women about as often as women by men (about a 1.1% chance per year) according to the 2010 NISVS the only national survey to bother to ask men if they were raped. Turns out if you bother to ask men, men answer yes they get raped too.

I don't know of any case where a woman raping a man has ended up with her in prison in the USA history. Three exceptions: (1) she raped a child (2) she committed some other violent crime like burglary and was sentenced for that (3) she was part of a gang of rapists that included men and it's the men who are considered the "real" rapists. I managed to find a single case in Norway of a woman locked up only for a rape of an adult male, but none in the USA.

A small history lesson you might not know about:

Feminism has always been full of crazy females. Take, for example, Emmeline Pankhurst and Admiral Charles Penrose Fitzgerald who sent many young men, as young as 15-16 years old, straight into the blender of blood, flesh, death, suffering and mud that World War I was.

Many had questioned the morale of such a campaign from the very beginning, but now that these White Feather women began to accuse war veterans who had been wounded in the service of their country, the public began to have far greater problems with this tactic. The White Feather campaign was an obvious attack on masculinity and an overt manipulation of gender in the pursuit of national recruitment. There was no finesse in the actions of these women, their tactics were clear for all to see.

Withdrawal of sexual desire and the public shame of a man were clear signs of a well-thought-out recruitment operation. The public knowledge about the gender attack behind the White Feather campaign did not make it any less effective, but it also led to disgust and hatred towards the women who dared to participate. It was a patriotic movement, but it was still an ugly way to do things.

One of the reasons why this campaign was successful was that these English women were seen as innocent, beautiful and pure. Women were the milder sex, and that is why criticism from them caused such pain.

The anti-men ideology sprouted out of second-wave feminist movement. Christina Hoff Summers, an actual second wave feminist, explains it much better than I do. I recommend you find her interviews on YouTube and watch them. Below is me trying to tl;dr her off the top of my head, I apologize for any inaccuracies that may result:

Second wave feminists were still fighting for equal rights, right to vote, abortion rights, land ownership etc. Once those goals were achieved the sensible ones got on with their lives, but a huge slice of them by that moment were highly intelligent, but bitter old single women who spent the majority of their lives perceiving men as an actual enemy and actively hating them. These people had nowhere to go, nothing else to do and incapable of settling they proceeded to create third wave feminism, the one you see everywhere now. The thing is, the only places they could get into were universities. These were the first gender studies courses. They became tenured professors, nobody could fire them, and they ran their classes like indoctrination camps, ironically all on government dime. End result was a plethora of students brainwashed into this insanity. As a 17-yr old you should be fully prepared for this brainwashing you'll be forced into once you go into postsecondary education.

How it became so widespread? In a sane society these people would graduate and get a healthy dose of reality. Are there douchebag sexist misogynist men? Absolutely. Are they the majority? Absolutely not. But here's where social networks come in. In the early 2000's they all introduced algorithms that effectively only suggested you friends and groups that only think the same way as you. As a result of these two things combining we have a full generation that is completely incapable of handling someone with a different opinion, or defending their own opinion. Instead they resort to name calling, physical violence, ostracism and shaming among their like-minded people.

But we still live on the same planet, it's impossible to just never meet anyone with a different opinion. Now the insular groups are clashing both online and physically on the streets.

In fact in some states in the USA rape is defined by penetration, so women have raped men, holding a gun to the mans head, and because they didn't penetrate the man they were raping, it is legally not rape. So in the state women can rape a man and then have him charged with rape.

Also modern feminism isn't about equal rights its about getting power over men, so demonizing the people they are trying to get power over, and spewing "facts" taken from studies where the people involved were hand picked to get the results that they want. Feminism is not, and has never been, about equality. It's a fairly long story, and quite complex, but it did bring about some legislative equity between the sexes (there were really just a few key places).

What we are seeing now is the social and legal pendulum swinging back to the other side: hate towards men, laws in favor of women, jobs and income in favor of women. Child custody for women. Divorce for women. Everything we can think of for women.

We have not, as a society, figured out equity. Egalitarianism. Freedom from our own tyranny.

I think you're just pointing out that women can abuse men too and there is plenty of evidence of that. However, we have no real outlets. And I think that is fairly true.

But I can tell you that I was once completely abused, fooled, and manipulated/gaslit for years by my ex. She apparently married me but under false pretenses. She commited impersonation, lied beyond belief, and manipulated myself and several women in her life all at the same time. I since divorced her, but guess what?

Because she was so good at lying to police, lawyers, and judges, she receives half my paycheck, a good portion of my annual bonus, a % of my 401k, and a portion of my pension. Her lies caused my relationship with my daughter to be at stake and I therefore paid her off so I could eliminate all risk of that due to the fraudulent restraining order she had the cops put in place. I was given 30 minutes to collect my things and told I could come back to the house in a week. Well, her and her lawyer manipulated the courts and drove delays (at Christmas time no less), and put my back against the wall. I fought, but not for the money, solely for my relationship with my daughter.

I made choices, yes. And I am satisfied with the priority I gave to my daughter instead of money. But it doesn't mean I wasn't taken completely advantage of, abused, and used.

But the point being here, men are abused too...but nobody gives a shit. Trust me, a willingness of one woman to lie is enough to fuck our worlds up. And so now I am afraid to ever get married again...and if I do, I will be signing a prenup...not because I want to, but because I know I can be taken compete advantage of, with help from the system, and so I will have no choice.

To answer the question in your post title, we'd probably have to dig through a lot of history, psychology and so on and so forth. The problem with historical record is that the authors aren't immune to biases or even ill intent. Any reputable historical source is aware that they need to cross-reference several sources wherever possible, however that depends on whether there even are the resources to afford such luxury. A lot of rewriting of history has also happened to suit narratives of all kinds, not just the ones people in this sub will mention.

Speaking of this sub, evem historical sources you find here might not be immaculate, although I suspect they paint a clearer picture than political catchphrases of those and also modern times do.

I suggest asking around more subs than here, because there are differences when it comes to the intensity of emotion, the degree of various sentiments that can stir up when people perceive they face hate etc.

r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates is another place. It's basically this sub here, but the moderation is a bit more tight and the posts are kept less emotional, which I find this sub here is more suited for.

Men are treated like monsters because they represent a threat to social order. Women arent going to the Capitol in their numbers - armed to the teeth. So in order to maintain the current order and peace - people who will never rebel against the machine are being put in power.

Women are not naturally inclined to violently fight the status quo. Right now, the elites want to maintain their power, even if it means killing the family unit, are more than happy to do so by feeding and supporting the idea of men being lesser beings.

Every revolution against the state inevitably falls to violence. That is the real founding principle of any state. Its the reason the US spends an absurd amount of money on its military even in peace times.

The more "culprits" we think of the better, that means less time and less hands pointing the finger at the elite & the rich.

The simplest way to explain it is look at it like a war. The first step to fighting a war is by making everyone see the enemy as less then human. Countries do it, and so do feminist. You can quickly gain support that way, and the majority stop having empathy for the things you do to them.

Neither feminism nor toxic masculinity is good. Where I live there are a lot of gender based stereotypes and I personally have been affected heavily by them.

Right as men we can all agree through your history going back to cave men we have been a tad violent, compared to women.

So I understand that some/all women I know live in fear walking home at night and so forth. Whilst us men do to there is a significant difference between getting mugged to being raped.

So I in the U.K. hear a lot of “not all men but enough men” as a blanket term to dislodge a point being made by men to women.

I myself still see myself as a feminist I won’t women to be on the same playing field as us men. And as a men’s activist I want men’s issues to be heard.

I personally think that there are that it kinda is balanced that both parties or sexes find it unfair.

Plus most of these issues that women face is from religious teachings and have been oppressed from 2000 - 5000 years and probably before that.

You see it in religion, from the Stone Age where you had female elders are religious heads and gods/deities to more modern through the Bronze Age where it was mixed and then today’s stuff of just men(in Abrahamich faith)

Most people follow without much thought.

Feminism is a multi-billion dollar movement that has spawned almost everything you see around you in modern western society. Switch on your tv, go on social media, go to a restaurant or bar, head to a shopping area…. Almost everything is aimed at women. This extends even further when you think about you think about education, criminal justice and just standards generally….

Why is this?? Women drive 90% of consumption. It makes sense to appeal to them.

Throughout history, powerful people with their own agenda have used misinformation to further their cause. Sadly those mistruths live on in peoples minds and attitudes. The justification of slavery is a prime example.

My last point is that society gives women a chance even if they are awful. I’m a ICU doctor. This week I admitted a 27F with super morbid obesity. This clearly did. It happen overnight. She lives with her mother who was an alcoholic drug addict. The girl was kept in a small room and existed on a mattress where she would open her bowels and pass urine. The paramedics said there were flys in the room..

This girl has been neglected and just straight up abused by her mother. Social services were involved for years however nothing was done.

Why??

The system, and society in general, prioritises the needs of the mother over the child. It sees taking a child away from an unfit mother worse than continuing to allow a child to live with an unfit mother.

If this were a man - you can be certain he would be charged by the police and the child would have been put into a safe place.

Again through my work, I have met “victims” of domestic violence. Let me tell you, they are not innocent poor victims. They give as much as they get, and I would argue give more. Men are brought up to never lay a finger on a woman. It’s a type of conditioning that is difficult to break. The same is not true for women. Sure, there are a minority of men who “control” their partners but the reality is that DV is bilateral in most cases with men not knowing how to deal with emotional or physical abuse and eventually exploding. All the prior abuse is ignored or not taken seriously. I would also argue that men are controlled by their partners - “I don’t like your friends”, “I don’t like your hobby, put it in the garage”…. One of the key drivers as to why married men end up pretty lonely. This is seen as funny by society whereas the exact mirror opposite is not.

Most cases aren't reported! And even then, I'm pretty sure their sentences are typically like 2 years (obviously this depends on a lot of factors).

Finally, you’re wrong about the least part. A lot of men who rape get light sentences (only a few are culled) and can leave. In fact, in my country there was a guy who raped his wife, and got only 9 yrs And was freed with only 5 yrs. this is happening in the whole world. About the women part, that might be true, but women raping are very rare, and most of the cases I saw were appropriately taken care of. Lastly, I, never felt bad around feminists, they always were very nice to me, I never felt attacked.

This one is actually not just a problem that the feminists are causing... I mean they're probably contributing or at least denying the existence of this problem but I think the main reason is what I call "boomer sexism". Therefore you can't punish the women because they're so weak and dainty and the man who was raped probably wanted it cause he's so sex-crazed.
