I agree to an extent. I do think a lot of guys online might go to the gym but they don’t really work on being attractive in other ways or if they do they’re off the mark.

I think a lot of guys see dressing nice as cringy or they have a completely different concept of what styles women are attracted to and what works for their bodies.

For example I used to shop at H&M and I found a lot of inexpensive stylish clothes there, but I imagine most guys would see that store as embarrassing.

On the other hand it is really hard to have the discipline to stay committed to self improvement especially if you’re dealing with depression

Men grow up in a culture that tells them that women are the poor victims of unrealistic expectations of physical beauty, that they should spend their time trying to control their unrealistic expectations of women and ultimately that men are obsessed with shallow characteristics (looks being one) and women aren't. Naturally this means men aren't taught or encouraged to develop fashion sense because that's supposed to be her insecurity not his and that women supposedly don't care that much about looks. Consequently men don't learn that they fucked up by not beautifying themselves til it's kind of late in the game to really start (not impossible just hard). This expectation could change of course, but that would depend on women swallowing their massive egotistical pride and admitting they are at least as shallow as men about a whole bunch of things.

Any time a guy has complained to me about them being unattractive it was always for one of two reasons: 1. they genuinely believe it and have given up all hope they would just wake up one day and insecurities are gone without making an effort. OR 2. they seek validation. They hope that with the constant complaints there would be a small handful of complements about their insecurities.

If you genuinely do not like something about yourself- your features, your physic, or whatever, put. in. the. effort. Go to the gym, eat right, skin care, etc. Things won't work overnight but the effort is everything

if you sit around all day allowing strangers on the internet to agree with your insecurities and bring you down will not make you attractive.

it just sounds like you're fishing for compliments or pity points if you don't put in the effort or get support.

Just started to getting my fashion up, bought some collogne, gell my hair back, tattooes, and after like 2 years of lifting, i actually am starting to look good, especially cause my competition is other asian men as im an asian dude myself. I'm not on dating apps though as i dont believe ill ever find the one on an app but once i go back to school, i think ill be able to pull a girl that i like.

I do agree with your post though as i used to be like that, i just believe that men who werent born with the looks have to try a bit harder (lift weights, find their fashion style, learn game) while women usually just have to get their makeup and diet down.

I’m a guy and I agree with this. I had 5 sisters so I was ridiculed if my clothes, hair, etc were not top tier. You don’t have to be a certain style… but you have to be a style and execute it well.

They’re lazy and enjoy complaining and being drama queens. You suggest a dude gets a haircut from an actual professional and they give an over the top reaction like “well that won’t fix height or make me a billionaire so why bother?” Instead of saying yeah maybe some good fitting clothes, a toned body and a haircut that fits their face could help them out a lot

The things women put effort into (skin care, makeup, outfits) are rarely going to make a significant difference in the desirability of the guys who are struggling. The most common reasons women reject a man are height, hairline, structure of his face, or dick size.

IMO whether or not they are putting effort into themselves physically the problem is more likely a personality issue rather than a physical one. Their negativity is probably far more off-putting than their looks.

They cry about "immutable" characteristics but most women have them too, they just have the ability, willingness, creativity and social pressure to find ways to conceal the bad and highlight the good. They have no idea how much of our teens we spend learning shit like this.

This one always boggles me a bit. Usually the excuse I see is “I can’t make myself taller or my jaw wider so there’s no point.” Well there’s a lot women can’t change too, at least not without surgery, but when you do what you can it makes a big difference. Just being in decent shape and not having middle school hair and clothes would improve the vast majority of the young men I see. But it seems they really don’t want to have to do anything for women because they resent women. They’re just mad that women prefer more attractive guys even though they obviously prefer more attractive women. It’s part of the weird paradox caused by men hating women but also wanting access to their bodies.

I wouldn't say I'm unattractive but I have traits that are somewhat special; panda eyes, kind of like Pete Davidson while not being as tall.

I also wouldn't say I have a bad fashion sense, I'm just more in the alt scene, wearing nail polish, a lot of accessoires. People describe me as "your local drug dealer or rockstar" or the normal version of Machine Gun Kelly.

I also wear EdT, mainly Bleu and Versace, have a skin care and hair care routine but also shoulder long wavy to curly hair.

I guess I'm on of those people in the special category, not conventionally attractive but to some incredible attractive while being ugly to others. Long hair doesn't help and I do lose hair, so going bald in the future is unavoidable. Also skinny with a incredible metabolism.

I'd say I try more than most to look good and be healthy. But it still doesn't work.

Men shouldn't even be judged sexually based only on attractiveness, this is unnatural to women. If it was natural, then humanity wouldn't have survived for thousands of years. It's however natural for men to judge women based only on attractiveness because most women are already attractive enough for men to have sex with.

Right. So if I'm short, have a small frame and delicate features, how exactly am I supposed to work on my appearance? It's easy to work on your appearance when it involves skin care, make up, fitting clothes, etc. It's a little bit harder when it involves cutting your bones under general anesthesia and inserting metal parts into it. It's not exactly as risk-free and easily available.

So many men do put effort into appearance - majority of people with gym membership are men, men are shaping their beards, getting a fade "fuckboy" haircut etc.

The main issue is most of what makes a man attractive is primarily out of their control - height, facial structure, balding genetics, body frame, muscle building genetics, complexion, ethnicity etc.

Women are biologically programmed to find low tier men unattractive - they're not going to be attracted to a short, ugly, bald man attractive just because he put on some nice clothes.

If men had the option of putting on make up and going from a 3/10 to an 8/10, they would do it. Women generally don't like men who look like drag queens with a face full of make up, and make up is not going to have the same transformative effect that it has on women.

Most do it to film themselves for the attention on Instagram - rack up a few hundred or thousand followers, and then every woman out there thinks she’s a bloody influencer and deserves to desires like one. Like, fuck no. If you’re not pretty enough to get signed to a modelling agency, sit your bitch ass back down because you’re just as unattractive as most men; you’ve just got pretty (pussy) privilege.

Effort won’t fix the fact that most women are only attracted to super-tall, ridiculously-muscular white men so if you’ve missed out on those genetics, your chances as a man don’t look good.
