goes without saying that she was so caught in housework and family stuff (taking kids to appointments, doing 100% of the parenting alone etc.) that she did not even have time to read between the lines. the jerk that is her BF wants his cake and t eat it as well. it's amazing that with all this shit she managed to get away enough to clear her head.

But the real kicker, to me, is his mom. Hello? She's an ass for both raising that kind of son and not telling her how much of a liar he is. But telling the poor ex-fianc´é (and mother of her soon 3 grandchildren) that she's stupid for believing him? Seriously?
Well, at least we know where he got is assholery from.

Baby trap, exhaustion, back-to-back pregnancies, not married, isolation from support and looming massive purchase.
He neatly avoided following through on anything by being a scumbag. No wedding, no house, no splitting assets.
Her mom sucks too. Terrible emotional support.

If he didn’t marry her after the first child, then he didn’t want her. I can’t wrap my head around women who pop out multiple kids for loser men who don’t even care enough to legitimize them.

For real. My dad married my mother when she got pregnant with me. (I was the first kid.)
I know a man who accidentally got his girlfriend pregnant, and they quickly got married before the baby was born.
I know of a couple other couples where I suspect they got married when the girlfriend got pregnant.
Meanwhile, I know of one couple where they’ve been together 8 years without marriage and with 3 kids. Yeah, no marriage is ever happening there...
[–]Trickle92Throwaway Account 52 points53 points54 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
My sister got pregnant three months into a relationship. He immediately asked for her hand in marriage and they got married when she was pregnant. They’ve been married 22 years. They have a beautiful family. Their daughter just got accepted to med school. If a man wants you, you’ll know.
[–]BooksandEarlGreyTeaFDS Newbie 22 points23 points24 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
What is FDS's stance on people who get married because the woman got pregnant? I appreciate birth control is not 100% effective, but surely if the man wanted marriage it would have happened first.
[–]Equal-Ear2312FDS Apprentice 30 points31 points32 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
if he wants to marry her he will marry her. it's not like she's from the mafia and someone put a gun to his head to take her hand in marriage. now... there might be some men who think marriage is the best response to the obligation they created but given today's culture (I am not talking about people that got married 20 years ago), I doubt men who don't love that woman and never before considered marrying her will step up. they are more likely to ghost her and ask for a paternity test or disappear when she's asking for child support. times have changed.
[–]BooksandEarlGreyTeaFDS Newbie 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
True, it isn't like they have a gun to their head. I guess I am trying to understand a family members situation; met at work, was the forever girlfriend (think together 5/6 years now), lived together in her house for a while (parent's deposit), she said she never wanted kids but got pregnant and now has a son, they moved into a bigger house and are getting married soon.
I can't help but feel it is a mix of him mooching off her, baby-trapping her and the marriage is because he can't do better (I don't know all the details as we aren't close, but these are my conclusions after discovering FDS). He really didn't seem to have a reason to marry her.
Edit: I am sure you ladies will be unsurprised to note he is balding already. So either balding in his late 20s or he is older than her (unsure which).

I got married to ex husband when I was pregnant with my first baby (my amazing daughter who is now 6 years old). I got pregnant 6 months into dating him. We got married when I was 7 months pregnant. I had another baby, a son, when she was around 2 years old..come to find out from ex husband he only married me because I was pregnant. Not because he genuinely loved me and wanted to spend our lives together..so it could go either way with these a$$holes 🤷🏻♀️🙄

Some people have been completely fooled by…I just drew a blank. Liberal feminism? The thought that marriage is just a piece of paper, it’s archaic to get married before having children together. Granted, he still would have cheated, but she’d have a good chance to go for half of everything during the divorce proceedings.
[–]JulyParadeFDS Newbie 51 points52 points53 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It’s the same piece of paper as any contract is! Most of us wouldn’t hire a builder for repairs without a contract (even the one we know, a really honest one), why do we hand our whole lives (and those of our children) over to some Johnny-come-lately without legal protection?
[–]Colour_riotFDS Newbie 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Lost_Kale90FDS Apprentice 202 points203 points204 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Having kids with a man is so much more serious than marriage. Why people have kids but not actually marry is boggling. It's like you're still tied to that man forever now, and additionally have a kid to take care of.
[–]Efflights6FDS Newbie 128 points129 points130 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Having kids is way more significant than being married. You can't divorce your children. But in the backwards society they see marriage as a bigger commitment.
[–]BasieSkanksRuthless Strategist 75 points76 points77 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Because marriage means that men are legally accountable to another person. They do not view kids in the same way. It's very easy for a man to up and leave his girlfriend and kids and get out of paying child support. It's much, much harder and way more expensive for him to get a divorce.
[–]ewokblubberFDS Newbie 41 points42 points43 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's because, as paradoxical as it sounds, kids aren't as much of a commitment as marriage is for LVM. Think about it. LVM do not contribute to childcare and household chores. A child, for them, is a mildly annoying pet the mother takes care of. But as payback for the annoyance the child presents, they get something! A lEgAcY. A child, to a LVM, is almost no commitment- he's willing to abandon it and in his childish, incorrect beliefs about family law, thinks he won't ever have to pay up- but it aids in the creation of mUh lEgAcY, so there's some benefits to having one.
Marriage, on the other hand? Even the most dim-witted scrote knows marriage is a legal obligation that entitles their wife to their precious, precious STUFF in some way. Conversely, it offers almost ZERO additional benefit to the LVM. A kid aids in the creation of mUh lEgAcY, a marriage doesn't confer ANY benefit on a LVM because he's already getting all the wife shit from his pickme anyways- the cooking, the cleaning, even the kid. So, no benefit, but additional responsibilities, whereas a kid represents some benefit with very few added responsibilities.
So yeah, for women and HVM, a kid is a much bigger deal than a marriage. But for LVM, it really isn't.

To me, if you don’t desire to raise a human being who is an exceptional person so as to contribute toward creating a better future for the world, I don’t get the purpose of having a kid. Kids can be fun, but they can also be a source of much misery, and sometimes misery wins out. Like, in a hypothetical world where I might’ve had a kid, I would be committed to raising a kind, intelligent, healthy, happy person.

For sure. Every time I encountered a man who said he wanted children back when I was open to the idea of adopting someday had a firmly negative reaction to the idea of not having biological children...and these weren’t even boyfriends, just dates. They so badly want to impregnate a woman and have her birth their heir. It’s disgusting.

These crappy men also trash their wives and girlfriends for "not staying in shape" after having several kids or "letting themselves go". They use that bullshit to excuse cheating an emotional abuse. Meanwhile my sister has had five children, holds a full time job and has zero help around these house while her worthless husband is going to his gym 7 days a week. She has a college degree but never developed the critical thinking skills to realize that Conservative Christianity is actively working against her rights so there's not much anyone can do. This should be a much higher comment. Women needs to always have an idea of what they would do if an accidental pregnancy takes place and frankly, I think an immediate abortion is the best choice especially in a situation like this woman's. An additional kid is only going to make her life more of a living hell.

We are HAPPY
And yet she says nothing about how HE makes HER happy - the typical response would be that "he is amazing and great! He works and pay bills!" but never nothing specific about making the wife happy.
And after digging deeper - he is basically doing the barest minimum while the wife almost go crazy from working too much. But they are "happy" you see!
It is a projection - the wife gaslight herself into thinking that she is "happy" - and forcefully project that into the relationship and create all these ideals about her husband in her mind. But if you go and observe them face-to-face, you can see how he gives no shit about her and is just waiting for the opportunity to leave.

[–]myheartisfullofloveFDS Newbie 13 points14 points15 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
See, this is why I don’t understand why so many men are against FDS. Women who are pickmes are incredibly unattractive once you get with one up close and personal. Men are not attracted to women who are too easily satisfied with being the forever girlfriend and bangmaid without the wedding ring… they’re attracted to women who has her own thing going on and can hold her own. This is why you nearly always see men cheating with women who have careers, or their single secretaries, or any other woman who seems exciting because she doesn’t live for the compliments of other men.
FDS quite literally are helping to create women who men can actually both respect and be utterly smitten by. Why oh why would you want ALL OF US to become pickmes if you’re not going to be attracted to that shit?!
I do feel bad for her and all but she should not at least have had children without paperwork’s and a ring to protect her. I’m sorry if that sounds harsh.

[–]Trickle92Throwaway Account 17 points18 points19 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Pains me to read this. She’s a single mother with three kids, and she’s not even 30. Of course he’s going to cheat. A man who leaves a woman pregnant three times without being married doesn’t respect women. He’s probably holding out for something better. It would be laughable if it wasn’t so sad. The cheater probably won’t even be able to provide adequate child support.
FDS works. It prevents women from falling into traps set by substandard men. Who a woman chooses to have children with is one of the most important decisions she’ll ever make. Stop wasting yourself on men who don’t deserve you.
