OP, you hit the nail on the fucking head dude. Is it any wonder that the modern woman love bombs you all the time at the beginning of a relationship, and the sex is fantastic, and you think if I marry this person, it’s always going to be this way?

Answer: No

Then, once you get married and your names are on the dotted line, they may continue this act for a couple of years, and then the demands, the constant nagging, taking away, or attempting to take away your freedom(s) becomes her main mission.

When she finally gets tired of you, and you’ve accumulated enough wealth, she will file for divorce, falsely claim domestic violence, get you kicked out of the house, and make you a visitor to the children you created together and promised to raise together.

Marriage is dead and it will never recover in my mind. The only thing that would change this is if we were allowed to sign a contract when we say our vows, which state that if any of those valves are broken, you can walk away with nothing, or at least splitting things 50-50.

The best answer, is just walk away. One of my sons asked me the other day how early he could get a vasectomy. He doesn’t want to have children, and he doesn’t want to get married due to how women are even in his high school classes. I also have advised my daughter not to get married either. Far better to live a life alone, which isn’t lonely at all, than to live with a quarrelsome partner.

I think that the most important thing a man can do to maintain a relationship of respect and desire is to be very masculine with a complementary very feminine woman. The sex should be somewhat domineering by the man, as long as the submissive wife consents. The problem currently is that feminists have proclaimed that situations like these are “abusive” because of an imbalanced “power dynamic”. This is a ridiculous stance.

Women like masculine men. We have all heard them talk about all the sweet characteristics that they want in a man, but at the end of the day who are they fucking? That is the biggest problem in the current dating environment. Women are trying to frame men’s assertive inherent nature as toxic.

That’s what women fail to understand, we are judging them by their actions, not their words.

I've fallen in love with this woman and to me, she's perfect. I realise that I'm heavily biased and she's very likely not as good in real life as in my mind. But how do I know for sure? I'm a woman and I only look at this sub to see what the other side is thinking. Not all women are like that, some of us are suckers too.

My husband is the one who's selfish and has cut off sex after getting comfortable in our marriage. When we do have sex he has to be on the bottom. I've tried to be the best possible wife I can be and he loved the support as long as I never asked for anything in return. If I asked for sex he said I was sex-obsessed, if I needed help with the kids or house I was asking too much.

I should have known when we were dating and he said "things are so easy with you" I should have known he wasn't going to help when anything got hard.

He treats me like I'm a personal assistant and the kids are entirely my problem. I work full time, but it feels like I have 3 jobs. He would call me from his job and give me administrative tasks that he could have done but just didn't want to, like "can you find and print out this form from the city..." Or he would make me do paperwork and mail it to his ex in regard to my stepdaughter because he was soooo busy having lunch with his friends. It wasn't hard but it was busywork he thought was below him. He also has a shopping addiction and lots of credit card debt. I like to shop too but I have NO debt. Opposite of what a lot of you are going through.

I loved him and I gave my all to make him happy and he just took it it with a smile not realizing marriages take work on both sides. And he was married before, I guess I'm easier than his ex (who is indeed selfish like how you describe women above). I guess for his second marriage he found a sucker rather than be the sucker.

I think its an issue on both sides as some men are assholes to women. I work in an predominantly female industry and the violence and cheating young men have done to some of these young females is jaw dropping (if true). A mate who is divorced had rape charges brought against him by ex to stop him seeing his daughter and implied the daughter could also be in danger. when the case was dropped the ex didn't face any criminal charges of false accusations. Jordan peterson and Sam Harris has talked about this subject where both sexes are being turned against each other.

Brother I’m with you all the way even when you think that you have a good one it’s only so long before they want your soul… my spouse cheated on and off for years and when I asked her why she simply said that I treated her “To good” yes those were her exact words even sadder than that I allowed myself to put up with it. Women now are crazy as ever and any man that decides to marry one is even more crazy. As you said there are a few good ones left but they are rare and far apart, you would have a better chance at finding a unicorn.

While it sounds like I have been with a tiny fraction of women you have, I have come to the same observations: it's just sex and ultimately sex with each woman was largely the same. They each have varied degrees of kindness but this spectrum at best just translates over into how hard they will fuck you when they decide they're done with you... and you'd better hope it isnt inversely correlated. Oh and the criteria for deciding their done with you, even dumber. "Because you say mean things" I am sure is typical.

I don’t think all women are bad, i you just need the experience and education on how to handle a relationship, one thing I’ve learned is communication is ultimately important but I’ll tell you what else is equally as important if not more important, and that’s disset strong hard-core boundaries in your relationship that you will not cross or bend on, people in a relationship especially a long relationship need to understand there are fucking rules to abide by and that you’re not just going to suck it up because someone else wants you to bend to their will. You can be nice and cordial and loving and still hold your self value and self-worth up, I wish it was easier but relationships take work, what about getting a woman who has been trashed a few times or south? I don’t think that would’ve calmed her down or change your behavior? I can tell you after my divorce, I’ll never be the same person ever again and it’s with my psychiatrist said as well, don’t give hop up on every woman, just learn how to run a relationship better next time.

My experience is similar, and I agree with most things. Society definitely puts marriage in a favorable light, and it's typically seen as a normal part of going through life. So, "idiot" may not be the best word for someone who was misguided.

However, that needs to change. Men are often seen as disposable. Too often, married men get sucked dry and then left to rot.

More power to you, OP!!! I have finally made this realization after getting engaged and called it off. I don’t see a point of getting married, the pros are minuscule as compared to the cons of getting married. There just too much to lose.
