As much as guys will say it’s because of a difference in values or because promiscuous women are more likely to cheat, I think a large reason men don’t want to settle down with a promiscuous woman is because men don’t have as much opportunity for meaningless sex as women do (of the same level of attractiveness), so if you marry a girl who has fucked around a lot, there’s a high likelihood she’s gotten to fuck more people than you have, and we feel like we’re missing out on something and we’re not on completely equal ground. And I think it’s fair to feel that way. However, I don’t see chaste women (meaning women with low n counts, not necessarily for religious reasons) holding men to that same standard; I think there’s something peculiar about the sexual dynamics between men and women (whether partly biological or fully cultural) that makes promiscuity inherently disempowering for women (i.e. they’re called sluts, whores, used up, and generally in a position of degradation rather than empowerment) while promiscuous men may lose the right to marry a good Christian woman, but are nonetheless empowered from sex. Promiscuous women may become chaste later in life and settle down, just like promiscuous men do, but by that point, it’s too late; societally speaking, they’re already “tainted” from past promiscuity, while men aren’t. So, I’m wondering, is there a male equivalent to this? Something all men can do from a young age that women can’t, and that women find totally repulsive and will fuck up their chances of finding a partner long into the future, even after they stop the behavior? I wanna say rape/assault don’t count, because those are ethically wrong and illegal, whereas being slutty is just socially prohibited; therefore men have more reasons not to do those things than simply female approval.
