As you all probably know, Anita Sarkeesian launched a kickstarter some time ago for Tropes Vs. Women, a feminist video series about female characters in video games. She has been releasing her videos (which is a 12 part series) piece by piece. These videos are unquestionably of interest to the Men's Rights Movement because Sarkeesian claims, among a lot of other feminist victimhoods, that videogames aimed at boys and men translates into violence against women.

But I'm not here to debate her idiocy. The question is, does the MR community want to discuss this video? The answer to me was clear because the first Tropes Vs. Videogames video had over 500 comments on it.

However, every one of Sarkeesian's videos posted here has very likely been vote brigaded by an off site group, probably IRC or facebook so I've compiled the evidence and threads below. Unlike the SRSers doing this brigading, I post here so it is laughably clear when the karma is not being distributed normally:

This was the first video posted to the sub. Immediately upon posting, MR supporter /u/GuitarsAreKindaCool posted this comment. The other comments were a sea of negativity, and yet that comment in particular was radically upvoted to the top of the thread for no apparent reason. You can see my comment on it directly below, which is where I first noticed this oddity. /u/dalsgaard wrote a great post at the time of posting, but was downvoted heavily and then made a strong comeback to the top. The interest in this thread was so much that the initial downvotes on the link couldn't overcome MRAs upvoting it.

It goes without documenting the SRSers in that thread (many comments now deleted). Regular reddit feminist /u/cleos makes an unremarkable appearance and there are numerous throwaways like this. /u/rogersmith25 tells us he's puzzled as to why he's getting downvotes with no responses. I wonder?

This got +44/-69, and was killed almost immediately. When I heard the video was out I was confused as to why it wasn't anywhere in the sub and I had to scroll for so long to find it.

/u/TheMu - There are so few MRAs in the thread that SRSers have to reply to each other for there to be conversation in the dead thread.

/u/ConflictSerum is a throwaway. Funnily enough one that can't even hide an SRS affiliation in 3 posts.

My question is if the video got flagged as a dead link so early, how the hell are there so many SRSers and up/downvotes in the thread?

/u/dawn_of_the_don in this thread is a troll throwaway account attempting to derail the conversation in a way they know could be legitimate. Their name is a play on SRSSucks Moderator /u/dawn_of_the_dan, are you shocked people who dislike SRSSucks are turning up?

I can't even be bothered because they're still coming. Several other MRAs notice how laughably obvious the vote skewing and brigading is.

I will message the admins to take a look but I'll doubt they'll be able to take action without proof. They should considering they shadowbanned a whole bunch of SRSSucks members recently for simply following a link from another community and posting. If the reddit admins were fair these users would be banned into non-existence, the ones stupid enough to not be using throwaway accounts for voting and posting certainly should.

Even if it's not an organized brigade, SRSers have a vested interest in how the MR community discusses Anita's videos and they are doing their best to silence criticism on it in a community they are not involved in. Although we are always getting trolled, this is a specific and targetted problem with Anita's videos. It's likely that the best thing we can do is to upvote the next video to combat the downvotes trying to silence criticism of Anita's videos. I realize some MRAs might agree that her videos aren't of interest to this sub, however I think they are the minority. I don't wear a tin foil hat, but it's clear that the sub is not functioning normally when it comes to these videos.

Cheers, just remember - reddit is full of young men people who will understand how onesided and faulty Anita's logic is, and us producing criticism of it will help them relate to larger men's rights causes and understand why feminism is so anti-male.
