My take is that we're all a bunch of dudes, regardless of fame or stature, going through the same thing. Sorry, I don't have much in the way of wisdom here, it's ridiculous that his wife gets that kind of money. Though to be honest, it's not the money that's the problem.

What is the problem? The problem seems to be pretty common here...women leaving their marriage, and most of us will never fully understand or recover from it. This is my first post/reply. I'm going through some stages, loss, anger, I don't give a fuck o'clock. What I really like in the Kevin Costner saga is how his first wife rakked him over the coals and took millions out of his pocket. He vowed never to let that happen again. Congrats on getting this lady to sign a prenup to protect his earned wealth.

It looks like he will pay her 1.5m a year.

His net worth is between 250- 300m for a 30 yr hollywood career.

I am a firm believer in that the ONLY way you keep a woman is if they need you. In fact, Kevin Costner, Tom Brady, etc may even have it more challenging.

You are basically asking, “Why would anyone leave Kevin Costner when he has all that money, fame, looks, etc?”. What these women ask is “Why would I stay with Kevin Costner if I can take his money, leverage his fame and buy all the “D” I want”?

So ask the more pertinent question. What if alimony was capped at $12k per month as an example? Large number to most of us. Nonetheless, think Brady and Kevin’s wives would bail on that $ amount?

It blows my mind seeing some of these figures bandied about, how is any of it affordable, even to rich people?

The woman was with Kevin Costner, but she probably wanted someone younger (20 yr age gap).

He did many things right in terms of prenup, hiring good lawyer, deniability regarding assets and income. His mistake was not calling a quits the second he got wind of his wife having an emotional support “friend” who happened to be closer in age to his wife.
