And I do wonder to myself, surely you’d have found somebody by now?

I know three women professionally who are about to hit forty and just didn’t settle. One of them is very very attractive. One of them is not attractive and clearly aging but dresses and acts like somebody in their early twenties and weirdly is adamant she wants men in their twenties. And one of them is getting, no hate, larger and larger and has had a string of boyfriends who I genuinely think were too traditionally attractive for her but hey, they liked her so who am I to judge.

In the first case I simply don’t get how she’s single. Absolutely stunning. Surely an attractive guy would have wanted to commit to her by now? And it’s not like she’s not looking, she’s on a premium dating app you pay for.

The second is delusional but to the point I think it’s irreversible. But why not just…cash in and find a guy at least your own age? A twenty five year old hot guy is never going to settle for her and surely she knows this?

The third seems to have gotten lucky a few times, and I don’t know if once again it’s because she’s only ever dated guys who are quite a bit more attractive than her and now she’s failing to calibrate but she’s desperate for kids. This is the one I know the most.

It’s just interesting, I’m seeing women actually call the bluff of staying single as opposed to settling in real time, all of varying levels of attractiveness, and wondering how much more common this is going to be and what it means for men.
