I don't think celibacy is the same for men and women. Many women still have access to sex while being single. Most men don't.

Men are judged way more harsh for being single. Im a 30 year man, own my own house, fairly financially successful, and relatives still ask me when im gonna get married. Fuck marriage, im not risking my financial stability for a woman who can cheat on me and get half my stuff and alimony.

In some cultures if you're unmarried and without kids by a certain age, you are like a massive failure. Like your family will start freaking out and desperately trying to set you up with ANYONE who just meets the basic minimum requirements. They are well aware that past 35 its gonna be really hard to have grand kids. I've seen this in action many times.

With a guy you can be 40 or 45 or 50 and still easily have kids with a much younger women, and women who are 30 are generally fine with marrying someone who's 40.

Realistically which group is judged more harshly will depend on the company you keep.

Overall, being single I'd say is more normalized for both men and women than it used to be, but people will still judge.

What are we talking about here? A person who was single all their life at age 35? Those have barely any relationship market value and most of them go on to never have a partner. Same with virginity at age 40. There is a reason those people never had a relationship or sex, and it's not going to change at this time in life.

But other than that, yes, value for men increases with age ON AVERAGE, while it decreases for women ON AVERAGE.

Men have it worse in terms of being single. Single men are seen as threats or losers. Whereas single women are seen as damsels in distress that need help finding their prince. It's also much easier for a single woman to find a date if she wants. For single men, especially over 30, it's next to impossible.

Well there's some context, I'll say this there's double standards when it comes to men and women either way, some benefit the woman some benefit the man, as far as being single, I would say if you're actively looking today, man have it worse, women just straight up have more options than men. Now in certain scenarios let's say 35 since you chose that age, both people career oriented and are looking to be with somebody, the woman is probably going to have a slightly tougher time because odds are if she's been super career focused she probably acquired traits that are a turnoff to the very man that she's looking for so yeah these things just have to be broken down piece by piece

I think it's largely quite equal.

Some men can carry it off if they have the charm of a rake and the wealth and success to suggest that they are merely playing the field.

Some women can carry it off if they too have say the charm of a cultured, well traveled, and a bit eccentric lady and the effortless wealth and success to make it seem as if they're just too busy living to ever settle down with something as tedious and boring as a man.

But mostly, most people aren't these characters, so they're going to be met with questioning, criticism, and many treating them like they're failures.

Women will enjoy the special cruelty of being seen as untrustworthy or loose by their married friends and society as a whole.

Men will generally be seen as objects of pity and forgotten by their male friends who have moved along into a stage of life they cannot follow into without a partner.

Of course these are best and worst cases. Most will fall towards the middle and receive equal amounts of distrust, pity, and mostly no one expect their parents and relatives giving a shit.

None of this shit is true. If you want to date statistically, go for it. You probably live an entirely different setting than those men with an entirely different set of circumstances. There is no key. There is no plan. I promise you that there are plenty of women in your potential dating pool that think they're more/less/equal to you and that also barely matters. Women and men are roughly the same and that's the biggest thing you can exploit, if exploit is what you're doing.

I think it depends on how attractive the man is.

Very attractive men with psychopathic traits have a very fun time being single and enjoy it much more than their "victims".

However very unattractive men would have a much worse time, as being unattractive and single just means you're totally alone.

It does seem like women that struggle to attract the man they want are more likely to pick stay single over be more attractive when compared to men that struggle to attract the women they want.

It's not an "option" for her if he wants her but she doesn't want him no differently than it's not an "option" for him if she wants him but he doesn't want her regardless of quantities or percentages. I often see incel like men argue whether women should think of it as "options" they should be "thankful" for.

It really depends on the person judging you. I know plenty of people that think if you are 35 and not married there is something wrong with you, no matter what gender you are. I also think it matters if you want kids or not. I can see how someone who has a childfree mentality wouldn't care.

I think it depends I think if you're a woman and you kind of average for whatever your culture is it's viewed kind of strange and if you're a man and you're an exceptional person physically or economically it's also viewed kind of strange.

To Women: "you are so normal, why are you single".
To Men : *you have desirable traits why are single".

The difference is how society views it. We view a woman as being single by choice. We view a man as being single NOT by choice.

As for who has more value, it depends on WHY they are single and what kind of man the man is.
