I’m older than most here. Dating has certainly gotten worse which I feel is a function of both age and changing times.

It is what it is. I feel this is simply the reality of dating, it’s not about being short changed. I’m very independent, so while I enjoy a good relationship, I have no problem flying solo when I’m not.

I feel fortunate that dating was less complicated when I was younger. It’s college age men I feel sorry for, not people my age.

I think the quote about “late bloomers” trying to get what they missed out on when younger is a bunch of agenda driven B.S. I didn’t miss out on anything thing, but was free to have many great relationships, with fewer issues than today. I don’t seek what to be like I was when I was younger because I’ve changed.

I have dated 6 people and 2 cheated. The two who cheated each did it because of FOMO. I would definitely add that to a list of red flags to look out for in dating.

One thing I had to learn to let go of is the could have beens. I’ll never get that time back and with my oldest stuck point only being 14 I’m having to learn the social skills that I never thought I would need.

Grieving and accepting that your younger year weren’t what you wanted or expected is hard but the only way to process emotions is to feel them.

The first of the millennials are in their low 40s, what boomers are you talking about ? The cheating is an age and availability thing. If women were found more attractive as the aged, I believe there wouldn’t be a significant difference. I was married at 25 for 10 yrs before my ex wife cheated on me when she was 36…. I have never seen a statistic about cheating of late bloomer (regarding first sex) men. Why don't you just ask the person who commented about this statistic for the source and dismiss their comment when they can't provide the source?

Dating has gotten better the older I get. I had more women at 41 than I did in my teens and 20s combined. I slept with 3 different women on the first week of 2024. I sleep with about 1 new woman a week except for 2 weeks when I was sick.

It isn't that hard to date once you understand women.

Dating has objectively gotten much worse over the last 20 years.
Usually what I've observed is that late bloomers may go through a small 'hoe' phase and come to realize the same crucial fact that any man with experience recognizes about women who have experience. A key ingredient in what makes youthful shenanigans fun is the fucking youth. Specifically stupidity and ignorance.

If you are an adult waltzing around in a younger person's fantasy interaction map you will quickly find that it's like anything else that comes with hype: way overrated.

Just like it's sort of dumb to be jealous of a woman's experiences because she experienced those things as a woman. Totally different role. Passive. Along for the ride.

I'd assume they'd cheat less, but that's just a guess. For one thing, you haven't been stuck with the same person for the last 20 years.

Just my opinion, but I think what happens is older men, marry younger women, who are not attracted to them, but are willing to marry them for financial gain. Then find themselves in a sexless marriage, which leads to cheating. It’s never OK for someone to cheat, in my opinion, so it probably would have been best for those men to have recognized the reality that the young girl they want to marry is not attracted to them, and will obviously lead to problems.

What happens to most men when they are single in their 40s, is that they find themselves in a truly terrible predicament: they simply cannot find older women (80% of which have had kids, and robbed another man in divorce) attractive enough to want to be involved on an intimate basis, leaving the only option to be intimately involved with younger women that are not genuinely attracted to them.

These are the circumstances that lead older, single men, to getting a passport and going to an eastern nation. ‘Passport bros’ as they call it. However, that term more accurately describes the younger men who go to other nations in order to find a woman who will treat them the way they would like to be treated. The younger men are unwise enough to bring the women back to their own nation, where they will inevitably lose the love of their spouse, due to the incentives she has to rob him in divorce, and find a man with more to offer— leaving him far more heartbroken and traumatized than before.

The older men typically go off to other nations and get into long-term relationships with young, attractive, local women, but refuse to marry, and DO NOT bring the women back to their own nation. They avoid feelings of love and deep intimacy as a way to cope with the fact that they know their relationship has a time limit. Fortunately, for them, as long as they have enough money to live decently, they can easily find another younger, attractive woman to replace the one prior.

I find the whole passport bros thing to be completely interesting and fascinating on a level that 99% of other Americans could never understand. It’s due to the fact that I lived all over Southeast Asia and South America, between 2006 and 2010. I saw the passport bros movement before it was ever even a thing, with my own eyes, so I know the truth about it, that no one else does. (Give it a few years, and we will hear back from the passport bros that it didn’t end up, working out in their favor.)

Back then it was consistently, and ONLY two types of men who traveled to these nations to meet women: old men, (50’s, 60’s, and 70’s—not much 40 something’s) who can no longer attract women in their own nation, and SEVERELY unattractive men, typically in their 30’s, who could NEVER attract a woman in their own nation.

Younger, attractive, western men were everywhere, like myself, who had traveled to other nations to find a life that suited the way we wanted to live, which was ultimately not working 9 to 5 for a company we didn’t give a shit about, attempting to find a life of doing work we actually wanted to do, that we either did not have access to in our own nations, or that we could not make a comfortable living doing so in our own nations.

Common examples were: starting a small business, becoming a sports instructor of some sort (scuba diving/sky diving/rock climbing/skiing-snowboarding/etc) or entertainment based careers. The younger, attractive western men had no reason to date the local women: there were millions of beautiful European Australian and Scandinavian women EVERYWHERE. I remember having a discussion with someone asking me why I didn’t date Thai women when I was living in Thailand. I explained that I had no incentive to do so, due to the fact that that it was far more enjoyable to date women of my own culture, who spoke fluent English. I much preferred having an exciting two month, sex filled fling with a beautiful Swedish woman who I could connect with on a deep level, vs getting into a LTR with a Thai girl that I could barely communicate with, who was constantly pressuring me to marry, and constantly expressing extreme levels of jealousy. Almost all young western men living in Asia and South America opted for dating other western women also traveling abroad, rather than the local women.

But today, that is just not the case.

The reason that passport bros (guys looking for local women) today is typically younger western men, is that today when you travel to Thailand and you see a group of western girls, they are barely wearing any clothes, sucking and fucking everything in sight, obviously cheating on boyfriend’s back home— meaning the reason men are traveling to other nations to find the local women is because todays western women treatment men like SHIT, and they treat the world like it’s their own personal little playground due to the fact that they can exploit their sexuality to take what they want from men, and leave them when they’re done with them— and no one can do anything about it because it’s become completely taboo to give women negative consequences of any kind. It’s so taboo that even the locals in the nation will not address a group of girls on the topic of their public behavior out of fear of being slandered all over the Internet. Back in the day, if a group of western girls were running around the beach in string thong bikinis, locals would warn them that it is considered indecent where they are, and could possibly lead to legal punishment, and then, if they didn’t cover up and act appropriately, they would call the authorities. The laws and the cultures in those nations have not changed, but what has changed is the fact that confronting a group of shameless demon-whores can have that person slandered all over the Internet.

These nations are also filled with leftover older western women who continuously monkey branched from one guy to another, until they became Julia Roberts’ character in Eat/Pray/Love. However, just like the older western men, they are also in these nations genuinely searching for love, and a more relaxed life with less social pressure. It’s unfortunate that a 39 year old woman can be happy with an average guy on an island in Thailand, but cannot be happy with an average western man in her own nation— due to the fact that she feels shameful for being with that man in her own nation, but on the tropical island, she does not feel shameful about it. In my opinion, this continues to be logical evidence that she is a superficial piece of shit incapable of true love. However, that doesn’t mean that her and the older guy can’t be happy together— as long as they stay the fuck on that island!!!

No matter how you look at it, an older man’s best option is to travel abroad.

Don't see what's so important about it? And... is there some conclusion or something? What the importance if men who settle down in their 40s are more or less likely to cheat than in their 30s or 20s? I don't get it. I personally think factors such as if their wife let's herself go or stops having sex with them are much more important factors. I also think in most relationships with a 40 yo man and a 20 yo woman... is the man cheating even an important thing to think about? From my experience it's not.
