The dating pool has become a toxic whirlpool of deceit and manipulation. I had past trauma as we’ve all had after a divorce. Spent the time healing and reminding myself who I really am and finally decided I was ready to start putting myself out there.

I’ve talked with and met with three women over the last 6 months and each of them projected being stable mentally and in life, moved on from past relationships, and mature. However after only a few weeks and in one case days. I was able to see right through them and discover that they were not who they said they were and that their situations were not as they said either.

One told me she had a job and her own place and was driven towards a future goal. Only for me to find out she’s renting her car, she lives in her sisters house, she’s unemployed, and on a waiting list for sober living over 70 miles away. I mean bullet dodged ( I’m not looking for anything serious just someone who’s at a similar place in life) but who the fuck decides oh hey let me try to make a connection with someone and try dating before I admit myself to a facility?

One other from the start was your typical “ I don’t need your money, I’m a grown woman, I got a job and I’m confident in myself and my life”. Then about three days into chatting, two days after meeting up ( no sex, not stupid) she tells me her “Job” is 4 hours a day 4 days a week as a host at a restaurant and driving Uber eats and that she’s not sure how she’s gonna pay her rent. Also she’s driving a car with expired tags and no seat belts. While also mentioning subtly that basically It was my responsibility to prove to her that I’m not like her ex’s and that I need to constantly reassure of that. Ended the situation quick on that one too.

I want to note. Each of these women are 40 and older. ( I am 38) I have a nine year old. If I wanted to deal with another child I’d adopt one.

I think I’m just gonna quit and wait five more years and see if the female collective mindset adjusts for women 40-56. Only three women’s interest in 6 months. If the odds were pertaining to anything else I feel most people would cash in their chips and walk away as well. Fuck this casino and it’s rigged games IM GOING HOME.
