I think he’s purposefully trying to taunt you to get you to head back so they can get a restraining order and keep you 100% away from your kids. I definitely would not recommend doing anything if you can videotape it in the next time you have a custody type hearing you use it.

I'd turn the tables on him, ramp up your shit taunting to 1000%...like others have said call him out for coming in for your leftovers, attack his manhood, upbringing, anything you can see that gets under his skin- find his pressure points. It's better to get him to swing at or get physical with you, that would be a huge favor he'd give you for getting a restraining order against him and more protective custody with your kids since your ex is putting them in danger being around this loser.

Honestly it might sound weird but get a restraining order against the guy. I totally get that you want to knock him on his ass but thats a risky bet. He doesn’t need to be around you and isn’t needed for anything related to your kids thats what their mother is for. Restraining orders are designed to deescalate it’s their entire purpose. You just need to go and file a petition, evidence helps but isn’t always necessary. Besides never having to hear this guy again and at most seeing him from a distance it’ll be funny knowing the frustrations it will cause him and your ex and you’ll have peace never hearing his voice again.

If you have some extra money, might be interesting what a PI could dig up on him. If you could get some really solid evidence of him cheating (could get him out of your ex's house) or blatant illegal activity, you might get the cops interested in pursuing him.
