Yea, although the manosphere is blaming women for being "hypergamous" there's no indication of that otherwise we wouldn't have the vast majority of men who are neither Chad, incel and on average poorer than ever.

The manosphere is a mirror twin of 3rd wave feminism and both seek to destroy gender norms. The differences between men and women are the basis of romantic chemistry versus friendship.

I don’t think your one-man study is indicative of dating at large. I’m in my late 20s and have a fair amount of friends younger than me. I don’t think I know a single young person who is dating someone more than 5 years older than them.

Sounds like your friend is a little insecure in his place in life (hence so much bragging about his sex life and disparaging other guys). I would take what he says with a grain of salt.

I think that many young women haven't come to terms with what they want from men, and as such, they are finding that their encounters from their contemporaries aren't satisfying, because most young men would not like to scare off the women that they are into, so they in turn have taken a less proactive approach towards that kind of sexual expression. This is probably due to fear of doing something, or acting in a way that they have been informed would constitute violence against women, or disrespectful behaviour.

... that being said, I think hypergamy makes it a little tougher to settle, as a blue-collar dude because those occupations are more or less by definition "lower class". College women don't want to settle down with a guy with no formal education, and more and more women are becoming college-educated.

See, the first thing I take out of this is that those young women, are looking for a type; a one-dimensional fantasy, and he fits that fantasy. When I was younger I definitely had a fantasy about a 35yo woman with knowledge and experience in bed. Now that I am that age, the fantasy doesn't work because it's been replaced by the reality that 35-year-olds are just people. And that's no fun, right?

I think it's more that in our age of internet gratification it's a even more a benefit to be a basic type someone can build a fantasy around.

I don't know if what you say is true, but it definitely sounds plausible. First of all, women are more attracted to older men than vice-versa (there aren't too many young men who would willingly choose a woman in her 40s over one in her 20s, assuming they have choice). And secondly, society have consistently pushed to turn men into good little transgender homosexuals. But once these feminist women have succeeded into turning all the men in to genderless male feminists, they promptly run away with the most abusive assholes they can find. LOL.

I believe that guy, or that that type exists, but never try to extrapolate from such solipsistic reports to a general trend. That guy might really score, and continously with the same type of chick, who really hates soy-boys, but he is just not telling you or even really perceiving all the librarian-type chicks who hate his old-school chauvi style. All the different wired chicks who just casually reject him are just landscape, while the one chick he meets that he bonds 4 hours with about the idiocies of liberalism is his whole world for that evening. Rinse and repeat, and you have a sliced off, constructed, yet seemingly credible world view.

The problem with the nerd-losers is that they are failing on such basics that scoring with even ONE chick seems like unfathomable magic to them. So they cling to the lips of some loser that has just a bit of game, a predictable shtick that he repeats and that every 3d month some poor woman falls for a bit, and suck it up like gospel.
