I think women are aware, but that they only have sympathy for the guys who are truly looking for a loving and meaningful LTR and who can't find one. On the other hand, women don't have as much sympathy for some guy who can't have casual pump and dump sex with a different woman every weekend.

Women for the most part do not want sex right away either so of course they are going to be oblivious. Women do not attach value to the idea of "getting" sex right away, men attach value to it. Complaining or even merely observing that women are oblivious to something they themselves rarely value, seek, or strive for is not breaking new ground. Women are oblivious to how the supply and demand of access to casual sex works for men, because casual sex is not something most of them even want.

and straight men cannot fathom that straight women almost never want "sex right away." that's a meaningless metric. sexual encounters carry higher risks for women and sex with someone new is usually a shitty, orgasm-less experience anyway. slut-shaming and social stigmas against female promiscuity only serve to make the whole deal even less appealing.

It's not obliviousness. We don't care if men can get sex right away, it's not what most of us want anyway, why should we care? Do men care about women not getting commitment right away, on demand? Do men think this is something to be concerned about? Why should women care about whether men can or cannot get casual sex right away? Most of us want sex in LTRs anyway.

Ever wonder why women bring up the so called "dual standards." You know, about men being studs if they fuck around and women being shamed as sluts? How it is unfair? Well, it seems that women aren't aware about sexual market value. They think all men can get sex easily when they want, like Chad, gay men or girls.

I can very easily go for a walk or listen to music and no one would shame me for it.

Pointing out that casual sex is hard to get for a man but not for a woman might be a valid reason to see it as an achievement for men, but it doesn't show why it should be disgraceful for women.

Most men would kill for the female equivalent of a nice guy , men do not receive kindness on a regular basis, especially not from the opposite gender. Meanwhile, niceness is completely worthless to women because they receive it in abundance to the point it becomes annoying.

This is a very minor point in a larger issue.

Women lack empathy or awareness beyond their own person. Every guy they swipe left on, every dating profile they ignore, every guy at the bar who's too ugly that they blow off -- those are all full-fledged humans. But they barely even register as a blip on a woman's radar.

I'm not saying they should. In fact, I think it's right that they don't. Loser men don't deserve to amount to anything, and it's a damn shame that losers still end up getting some sex and some relationships, even if they're unfavorable ones. Because that trickle of minor success causes losers to keep the faith instead of doing the work and becoming non-losers.

But when a woman says, "It's so unfair that men can X", what she means by "men" is "the small fraction of men that actually register as more than the tiniest of blips on my radar." The guys she actually notices, thinks about, and cares about. Not the guys who barely exist.

The small fraction of guys she notices, thinks about, and cares about seem downright privileged to her. They can do all kinds of shit and get away with it, while she feels like she has to work harder than they do to get the same.

That's really how this whole feminism thing got off the ground. Women looking at the small fraction of elite men that they actually notice and care about and saying, "All men" {that I notice} "have it better than I do."

Yep. OP speaks the absolute and complete truth. It is not that women are bad or are trying to hurt men. When they give men advice such as "be yourself" it is because this is the advice that has worked for them.

They just honestly don't understand the reality of the sexual marketplace. They talk to their girlfriends and their girlfriends have any number of attractive men they can have sex with. I mean there is absolutely no shortage whatsoever. I was talking to one of my dear female friends, a very nice girl who is probably a 6 out of 10. She had put up a match.com profile and she told me that she got so many responses that "dating these guys could be a full time job." When women think about guys, typically they are thinking of the top 5% of guys.

As I have said before, the equivalent of a woman being a s!UT for a man is not a stud. The equivalent, in terms of relationship market value is a guy who regularly visits prostitutes or even worse a virgin. If women are upset about shaming they should at the same time condemn the shaming of men for their sexual histories.

But just as a side note, because casual sex is so easy for women, it is not a true accomplishment in their minds. They are looking for commitment from a high value guy. And that is as hard for women as sex is for men.

This is so true, and I really do believe it's a huge source of contention and confusion. When I talk to women, it really does seem like a lot of them do not understand how difficult it is for the average guy to hook up with people theyre attracted to on a semi consistent basis. The level of effort and time involved is incomprehensible to them.

This is why the idea of 'open relationships' is bullshit; most women do not appreciate how imbalanced the power is in such an arrangement. Short of the guy being a minor celebrity, he won't be competing on the same level whatsoever, and it's bound to breed massive resentment (in most).

Any discussion of Tinder tends to be moronic. I remember a feminist-leaning article a while back that basically boiled down to a bunch of college girls complaining that it got them lots of hook ups but the guys didn't want to love them forever afterward. The article somehow made this a problem with men's attitudes.

Anyway, I don't see the logic of this post, and the quoted article even seems contradictory. Overall, I'd rather attack both sides of the dual standard than justify any part of it. The male end is full of social bullshit too, in terms of men being pressured and judged by both sexes based on their exploits.

I think it's true, but why would they know? It's not taught in school. Nowadays we are taught that women are oppressed and men get an unfair edge in sex, and that women want sex just as much as men do. It's not their fault they have been subjected to feminist lies.
