I can’t. I just can’t. She’s having a child with this man. His child. Yet somehow she’s expected to also cover all pregnancy related expenses!? She didn’t get pregnant alone!

Also I was surprised to see $60000 described as a very high income. It’s not low, loads of people would kill for that household income. But it ain’t very high. Unless maybe you’re living in a place where the average salary is minimum wage.

This is almost unbelievable.

When we got married and pregnant, all of that stuff considering who pays for what goes out of the window. You are now legally family. There is no ‘mine and yours’ once a child or a wedding ring is in the picture. It’s all ours. Man I would up and leave so fast if a man whose baby I was carrying tried to imply in any way that the expenses related to that baby were mine lol. We even split/considered it a mutual expense for maternity wear. And once the baby arrived and my salary dipped (it’s the best decision for us, we didn’t sleepwalk into my career being the one to take the hit like I know some couples do) he began to cover almost everything. Because it benefits us all. I can’t imagine living that life. Horrifying.

This really and truly broke my heart. At first, I was just pissed off at the guy, but hearing how she’s pregnant and responsible for so much of it on her own, and on a $10K salary...devastating. I sincerely hope for her sake and the sake of THEIR baby that he supports them, at least more proportionally to his income. For God’s sake. I can’t believe people are like this.

How on earth is $60k high for a joint income? My starting income is around $4-5k right out of uni without any job experience. There’s nothing wrong with earning a $60k joint income but she’s deluded if she thinks that’s “very high”. It’s probably around average if you live in a city. I think her husband has brainwashed her into thinking his very average income level is high.

Also, why the fuck isn’t her husband helping to pay for her pregnancy? She only earns about $10k a year and is saddled with the burden of doing housework while pregnant. The least he could do would be to help her out financially while she’s carrying THEIR baby. She didn’t get pregnant alone so expecting her to completely foot her pregnancy bills is ludicrous.
