Ok, but can someone tell me if the hydro-boost is good stuff? My cheeks are dry af even using moisturizer every night, and a spray would be convenient, but I have super sensitive skin.
Also, he used SHAMPOO as facewash? I can't even imagine what that does to your skin.

I spent years of painful dry winters using everything under the sun and this changed my life and is $13CAD. CeraVe Healing ointment. Or (same thing but in Canada) CeraVe Bebe healing ointment. Just a tiny bit and it has made my skin so silky and hydrated and glowy. It is recommended by dermatologists and now a tonne of celebs claim to use this brand. The moisturizers and washes are great too but the healing ointment is the best product I have ever used.
I cannot praise it enough.

I will tell you that La Roche Posay Cicaplast repair balm is amazing, I wrecked my moisture barrier with too many acids, broke out like crazy, and it's the only thing that repaired it.

Hm. Good to know. I had this awesome moisturuzer and then they changed the formula (they tried saying it was just the "look", but some other people posted the ingredients list was completely different) and I tried it twice and broke out horribly. The one I have now is okay, but I'm still searching for a forever moisturizer lol.

my favourite thing to use for moisturizing is hyaluronic acid! it’s a serum and not a cream, but it’s extremely hydrating. i think there’s a difference between hydrating & moisturizing, but it has worked for me personally. the ordinary sells it and i recommend looking into it :)

Just a note for anyone in a dry climate, HA will pull moisture from your skin if it can’t get it from the air around you. I can only use it outside of our nasty, dry as hell winters.

oh, yeah! i should have added that i make sure to use it in my bathroom after a shower or steaming my face, while the air is more humid & my skin is still warm/damp. i also live in a very cold/dry winter climate (atlantic canada) so that has worked for me.

I really like the one from the Ordinary. A few of their serums have a high concentration of it as well.
Pro-tip: blend the HA and your facial oil together in the palm of your hand, it has ingredients that actually help the oils penetrate the surface of your skin rather than just sit on top.

yeah, the ordinary is the best one i have found! i just try to avoid any with dyes or scents because my skin is sensitive. the ordinary is cheap, works well and doesn’t have a ton of other ingredients. as well, there’s something about molecular size and its ability to sit on top of your skin or actually get absorbed—afaik the ordinary has different molecular weights to make that work better. hope i make sense cause tbh i do be kinda dumb loool

So I get very fancy with my skincare (we're talking multiple 100$ serums, toners and creams used nightly - biossance, Estee Lauder, Fresh, La Neige, Shiseido, etc.) - but the hydro boost cleanser is litteraly the only one I've found that doesn't make my skin react. I've tried expensive stuff, I always come back to that damn cleanser. It looks hella stupid on my shelf alongside the fancy stuff, but I actually really recommend it. I have sensitive skin too and it's always difficult to find a product that is going to help and won't make my skin break out. As a side note : it's dumb but having a silk pillowcase has definitely made an improved on my skin

Ooh, thank you! Yeah, I'm very pale anyway, and just putting on toner looks like I'm applying a sunburn. I have to be very careful because I've found a lot of stuff, even if it's marked for sensitive skin, turns my face really red or makes me break out.

Hydroboost worked wonders for my skin! I have super dry skin especially in the winter and it’s the one thing that doesn’t dry me out or irritate my sensitive skin. It’s so gentle I can use it over my eyes to get off any remaining eye makeup that my makeup remover didn’t and it doesn’t sting at all. Cerave is also a fantastic moisturizer to pair with it

I cant speak for the hydro boost stuff but I use First Aid Beauty ultra repair cream and it's really nice. I don't have sensitive skin but the bottle says it's safe for sensitive skin.

Im glad you really liked it! But just as a warning for others, it has eucalyptus oil in it and it would burn my fave every time I used it. I was so bummed because I don't even have particularly sensitive skin but it was a no go for me!
I use the fragrance free hydroboost gel-cream and then top it with la posay roche Lipikar Balm at night for the extra hydration. Working well so far!

Yes! I love their face wash and gel cream. I bought them last winter and have stuck with them. The cool thing is that a little goes a long way so it's not hard on your back account.

Vanicream for moisturizer if Cerave doesn't work for you (it never did for me.) Use a serum for other targeted issues in combination with it.
Only use face wash if you're removing makeup, grime, or just really oily. I wash my face with only warm water. I think too many people are using cleansers when they don't need to.
It doesn't matter terribly what kind of pillow case you use as long as if you change it daily.
People say I look young. I think I look my age.
Edit: just wanted to add my skin is dry / sometimes sensitive, so I use this site for sunscreens. Helps me find ones that won't irritate my skin.
Sun plays a major factor with wrinkles / dry skin / elasticity.
I use a low SPF sunscreen / moisturizer on cloudy days (still UV rays.) Even when I'm indoors if I'm near windows.

Actually most of shamoos are gentlier for the skin than for instance shower gels. Shampoo often contains some oils and "hot so hardcore" surfactants. In fact, when I have to clean my hair very well (like before henna) I'm using shower gel to wash it, cause shampoo is to delicate.
But in this case main problem of this guy is lazyness, not what he wash his face with.

If he was using shampoo on his face, what was he using to clean the rest of his body? More shampoo?
I mean, if he was using body wash at all, odds are he'd just use THAT on his face and hair, and wouldn't even bother with shampoo.
And if he was using bar soap, there's a fair chance he'd just use bar soap to clean his hair. And then he still wouldn't use shampoo. (Yes, I know a man who used bar soap on his hair... for decades.)
The last option is that he doesn't clean his body at all, but....I can't even.

Unrelated, but might I recommend the facial moisturizer by Lush called Imperialis. Life changing, at least for me. A queen I look up to recommended it to me, smells like Lavender.
Never understood why men aren't taught to take care of their skin. They also age, usually worse, than we do.

I do. I begggged my ex to please use moisturizer or SPF. AT LEAST when we were going to be in the sun. Like he may be a man, but I don't want to be dating a guy who looks like a wrinkled leather bag. Sun damage is real (oh, and skin cancer is in his family).
He refused. His reasoning--it felt icky on his skin. His skin is way more wrinkled than mine (both 31). His loss I guess.

yea i agree with u here.
as another example, washing with water is perfectly adequate and has been for many years before 'skin care routines' were invented.
my grandma (and a lot of people her age from my culture) only ever washed her skin with well water/lake water (coz that was all that was available in their impoverished rural village), and her skin looks like your average 40-50 year old's at 70 - she has next to no crow's feet or laugh lines, only a few age spots (under 10 on her face), and her skin is very supple and plump. the only thing she did was lots of sun protection through using clothes/accessories (hat, long sleeves) so i guess get your sun protection on, wonderful ladies!!
of course if you enjoy a skin care routine then by all means enjoy your skincare routine!! <33 i also personally have a skin care routine myself as it brings me joy, but i appreciate that water can do an amazing job on its own.
