I follow Vogue because sometimes they post good articles about fashion but over the past few days they have constantly been promoting this FWB article. The last straw on the camel's back was this article promoting age gap relationships. This is some peak lib fem dating advice.

LMAO. They're "sustainable" because you're giving scrotes exactly what they want, access to your body, mind, and time without any reciprocity or culpability. The majority of men in relationships halfheartedly fake these things because it's their only avenue to sex.

I had a 10 years older FWB. He'd do shit like try to get me to hang out for a couple hours with him before we got down to sex, as if I was interested in watching a movie on his gross couch. He started playing mind games, like inviting me to a fairly expensive concert (where he laid on the PDA) and not letting me fully pay him back for it but when I asked him if he wanted to go to the movies he said yes, but then "mysteriously" when I messaged him to solidify the day he "never got the message". The asshole also stealthed me. And what did I get in return? Not a single orgasm, that's for damn sure.

The truth of the matter is that FWB arrangements are yet another situation in which the woman is being used and getting little to nothing in return, risking pregnancy, disease, and abuse while the man risks almost nothing and gets the pleasure of your company and pretty much guaranteed orgasms.

And in order for FWB to work, the man has to be someone you don't want to date who you run no risk of catching feelings for. That would put him securely in the LVM category. Why give a LVM the time of day, much more your time, energy, and access to your body? It makes no logical sense. Bunch of Cool Girl nonsense.

It is a four year old article...but it’s awful. She keeps referring to relationships as “ownership contracts.” She describes how unequivocally awful her FWBs are but justifies it because she gets to be hedonistic and explore her sexual autonomy.

One passage that sticks out to me is this: “Essentially, you’re taking a relationship and removing the creepy ownership of another human being, which leaves more room for hedonism and sexual exploration. Like, who do you want to bring to the sex party—your boyfriend or your fuck buddy? It’s a no-brainer. All I can say about age gaps is that men who seek them out would go for even younger if they could. If AOC became 13 they'd go for 13. A woman has ZERO to gain in a FWB situation. I did it once thinking I was being empowered in taking ownership of my sexuality and vagina. Yikes. While obviously women can do whatever they want, both large age gaps and FWB relationships tend to take advantage of women. I think many women in their 20s don’t realize just how easy it is for someone in their 40s to manipulate them. They falsely believe they are “so mature and smart” for their age because that’s what the older guy tells them to flatter them. I mean yes, guys do tend to mature slower than women, but many never truly mature at all. And if a man is mature, he won’t be dating a woman young enough to be his daughter.
