Look if you care about your partners sexual history that's fine. Incompatible with a lot of people sure. But it's fine.

The answer however is not never commit. It's to only commit to a woman who meets your standards.

Will it be harder to find someone to commit to? Absolutely. But it's either that or commit to someone who's obviously incompatible with your views. That's a great recepie for resentment and a relationship breakdown.

This is a ridiculous argument. Just because we live in a "sexually free" society doesn't mean everyone is promiscuous. A large portion of the population has a restricted sociosexuality, not everyone has a large n-count. In fact, most people are less promiscuous than people generally believe, nowadays young adults are having less casual sex than any period since the sexual revolution.

There's no reason why any young man should stop caring about sexual history, given that it's perfectly feasible to find someone without a promiscuous past at that age, and that people with restricted sociosexuality make better partners for serious relationships. Part of being a sexually free society is that no one should force you to change your sexual preferences, a most people would prefer a non-promiscuous partner for something serious.

The only two types of people who make these kinds of arguments are:

Sleazy men who want an easy lay--and thus have a vested interest in female promiscuity being socially acceptable.
Women who have already racked up their number and can't go back--and thus have a vested interest in female promiscuity being socially acceptable.

If you belonged to neither of those two groups, you simply wouldn't care enough about others' sexual preferences to even bother posting this. Men expecting women to have low n-counts must in some way threaten you, which is why you are so hell-bent on shaming and discouraging them. What other motive could you possibly have?

I agree with the first sentence - I do. Either half of the relationship coin caring about their partners sexual history is incompatible with a sexually free society in the truest sense.

But I disagree with sentence two. I’m the type who doesn’t care about my partners sexual past as long as it’s not going to give me an STD but that’s what communication/testing is for , - so I have no problem with a partner with a high count.

But for some guys - it does mean a lot , and it’s the entire precursor for why they commit or do not commit. I say this as someone almost determined to never commit . the guys who do commit - or want to commit someday - usually are the ones who really care about their partners sexual history - and usually also are the ones inhibiting the sexually free society.

So I think your first half of this is almost inarguably true - but the guys who plan to commit someday are the ones with more stringent parameters for what they’ll accept- telling them they shouldn’t commit because it doesn’t matter because caring inhibits free sexuality means shit to the guys who care about their partners body count , because they’re 100% the ones who are defacto ok with a non-sexually free society.

I don’t like their stance and I think it’s archaic, but to them - it does matter - and that’s their point

It is reasonable to wonder about a woman you’re interested in’s sexual history. There are things that can factor into that, mainly a health risk. Those health risks can manifest themselves as an STD, some unstable current or former figure in her love life, or unhealthy projections she places onto you as a result of past experiences.

As for the body count thing specifically, yeah, it’s also reasonable to be concerned about that and have standards about it, as long as those are reasonable. I’m a little over a year away from being 25. I haven’t been all that successful up to this point. I don’t expect in this point in life to find a decently attractive girl that hasn’t been with under 15 guys, especially not one that’s roughly 24 months within my age range up or down. If she’s been having sex for as long as I wish I’d have been, I figure that to be risking losing out on opportunities because a girl has 1 - 15 bodies is unreasonable, especially with how accessible people have become to one and another with the various social media platforms.

But, if her body count is over 30, 40, or definitely 50, and I’m hearing about her in places I feel I shouldn’t be hearing about her, that’s absolutely reasonable as well.

Sexual inhibition just makes the filtering process more complicated, but not impossible. If you look long enough (and your market value and expectations align obviously) you will find a compatible partner after some time.

But yeah if you do not like sexually unrestricted people do not commit to them or you will be very displeased. That's common sense lol.

Eh I disagree. Both sexes in a sexually dimorphic species seek to control, and benefit from controlling the sexuality and sexual behavior of the other. All you're basically saying in the post is that women are doing X and men should either accept it or not accept it, but the guys not accepting it will eventually have an effect on women, whether that be engaging in less promiscuous behavior, or lying about it in order to get the commitment that they want.

Both sides want commitment and if they can't get it, they'll either change themselves or try to force the other side to change by accepting their behavior, and I'm not sure which side is going to cave first.
