Media perpetuates this idea that LVM/NVM deserve young, traditionally very attractive women. They want women like this to think they want LVM with ‘dad-bod’s’ while women should strive to be young and hot. LVM, in turn, believe that they deserve and are owed women like those pictured above.

I watched one recently while high, I didn't realise he was even gonna be in it, the thumbnail just had Andy samberg who I like. It was the WORST. Like when you're high then the dumbest things are funny, this was just fucking awful. Adam Sandlers character has an affair with his teacher, she goes to jail, and he lives his life as a local legend with the child of their union who grows up and is played by Andy samberg. It was so problematic and I'm actually disappointed in Andy samberg for being part of it. I think it was called "that's my boy" or something similar.

There's something mentally wrong with men who buy oversized clothes, right? Like they're stuck at the stage where mommy still buys their clothes a few sizes too big "to grow into", because they're poor and clothes are a Christmas present. Where a child feels disempowered, apprehensive and unloved because they don't get to choose clothes that fit, kids are going to tease them for being baggy, and they're not being given actual presents like toys. People capable of getting past this trauma grow up and into adults who take pride in their clothing, their body and their appearance and enjoy buying their own clothes from a place of self-determination and trust in their own sense of style.
Or they enjoy swimming in and hiding in large clothing for other reasons...

This was my ex. The thing is, unfortunately, he hasn’t gotten passed it :/ it’s actually very sad how much his trauma dictates his life now even at 29 about to 30 in a couple of months. The dudes father was a complete narcissist alcoholic that would make him feel bad for buying anything and now he’s just stuck there. He can obviously moved past it if he put in some effort, but I don’t know if he ever will do that. This was the kinda stuff that made me stay with him, feeling guilty for leaving bc he was so messed up from his childhood. But he’s also a grown adult and I am not responsible for taking care of a men’s mental health.

I scored a 10 out of 10 on that ACE chart. The part about childhood trauma and chronic illness was interesting. I had one autoimmune disease by 18 and three by 35, as well as other chronic health conditions. It's the shitty gift that keeps on giving.

This may be entirely incorrect but from what I can remember when I listened to a conversation about this a long time ago was that a reason men might see baggy clothes as “fashionable” or something is because when you went to prison, you didn’t ever really get your size. It was basically whatever you got and usually it was bigger.
This look was emulated by the youth who either knew someone or had someone in their household go to prison - it was like the “tough guy” look.
But full disclaimer - I have no sources nor have I done any research on this off the cuff response.

oh yeah, the gangsta look. It's generally almost-fitting jeans and tee, and gaping basketball high-tops, but the 'fashion' part is the removed belt and shoe laces when you're in detention/holding. Youths who graduate high school think the next step on the path to manhood is jail.
Sandler is more of the 6 year old, soft clothing off the rack, childish look. He's not emulating an actual basketball player or no-belt gangsta so it's intriguing.
The themes of his movies are all immature, toxic and LVM as well. No wonder men with neglectful childhoods resonate with the propaganda.

I don’t think they buy the clothes. Those are free t shirts from give aways and 16 year old cargo shorts from a Sam’s Club five pack. Which is fine if that’s what they can afford, but it’s slovenly if they can do better. It also makes women think they’re wearing dishwater-colored tighty whities with holes in the thighs and skid marks deeper than a Nebraska field’s cow trails during a rainy April.

Even his "good" movie Wedding Singer was just "meh" to me.
There was also a whole "Madonna/Whore" thing going on where one of the female characters was promiscuous and the main chick (Drew Barrymore) was very much a sweet Madonna. She even had a way of speaking that sounded almost "baby" like and I felt like I was the only one grossed out by it.
At least back then Adam Sandler had less of a Dad bod but the cracks certainly were showing even in his early films and they've only gotten worse.
Needless to say, Adam Sandler is trashgarbage.
