I've been a stay-at-home dad, home with our child almost 24/7, for 13+ years. I currently educate her at home.

My stbx plans to file for divorce after this school year. Stbx and our marriage counselor (more like divorce counselor) both think we can stay friends, and they recommend doing so for the sake of our child.

I'm not there yet. I still feel betrayed, hurt, and angry. I wear my heart on my sleeve, and I would just be pretending. But I'm trying to get there. But right now, we are still married, living in the same house with our child. I can't stand looking at her, and my stress is going up now just thinking of her coming home.

How did you get to the point of being friends again? What steps did you take? What worked and what didn't?

How has your actions and behavior affected your relationship with your children (whether it worked or not)?
