It hurts to watch poor pickmes buying into a fairytale lie that being picked by a man is their happily ever after, and then ending up shortening their lifespan for it. This constantly pushed propaganda to look for and then keep a vampire leech of your energy and resources in your life as if it was mandatory, is crazy bullshit, and I'm glad more women are becoming aware and seeing it for what it is. Desperately looking for male approval is like being a volunteer toxic waste trash can. Never again.

My sister's partner just walked out on her and their 18 month old baby she has been caring for solo for 6 months as he didn't get around to looking for work where they had agreed to move to (closer to me, and our family and where she landed a great job).

He says he's "no longer in love" and is going back east right now to "sort out where his head is".

Yup. For sure he was the one struggling while they were separated. Absolutely zero regard for what she has been dealing with, her feelings or the wellbeing of his fucking family.

I love my sis to the moon, but now I'm going to be "stuck" playing a significantly more active role in their lives, for the baby's care and my sister's well-being. But it means I'll have to move, leave my city and my community. I will do this without qualms... But seriously dude. Your decision because you enjoy being single fucks over not only my sis, your child but those on the periphery as well. I am childfree, but wholly get the value of you need a strong support system to raise a kid. You have just offloaded alot of your parenting job onto me.

I used to think that I wanted to be a SAHM. Caring for the kids, keep a clean house, cook so my husband can have a warm meal when he gets home, just a perfect life in my eyes. I went to stay abroad with a family and was talking to the mom (she was divorced ex-SAHM with 3 children) and telling her about my plans and she had the scariest look on her face and said “don’t do that, that’s not a good idea”. Tbh I was delusional asf, and she was right. Being a SAHM is hard work (mentally, emotionally, physically) especially when you’re putting your financial freedom in someone else’s hands. Women who can and want to handle that have all my respect, but that’s not the life for me.
