I hung out with one of my exes months after we broke up. I would sleepover every night, help pay his bills, buy food and groceries etc. He then told me he “doesn’t have time for a relationship right now” and told me he “liked what we have” I accepted that at the time because I thought I had to respect his feelings too. Screw that, I was doing way too much for someone not doing much for me and who didn’t want to commit to me. Never again putting myself in those kinds of situations, I deserve better.

You’re telling me that all of a sudden, every single person on the internet is about respecting boundaries while conveniently ignoring the context - that this man has been leading her on, already texting her (albeit inconsistently) and that she’s probably in a FWB situation where they aren’t actually friends.

Well of course, because most of those guys (LVM) have been and currently are that exact dude, and most girls (pickmeishas) are that girl.

Been there, especially when I was younger, and grew the hell out of it. I think it is so important to realize that being single can be way more awesome and rewarding than spending your time with such an emotionally challenged waste of space. not to mention - you should to be single and keep your options open for when the right person for you comes along, not tie yourself down with a LVM!

I will never understand why in the age of sexual liberation it is such a huge deal for men to just admit you are looking for a physical relationship. you literally DON'T need to lead anyone on anymore, so why, why, why, why?

Why is this me ... :( I just really learned more about FDS. Yesterday I read the ideology, the handbook, and a bunch of the top posts of all time on this sub. I cant believe I'm just now finding this sub and learning about it. It is crazy how all of the ideology of this sub stems from a female's self respect and sense of self worth... and yet it feels so strange and different for me to be reading that I should never pay for a date, or if he doesnt text me enough, drop him. Maybe I've always felt like I'm not good enough to just drop men like flies and expect them to treat me like a queen. However this sub is opening my eyes to my true worth, and the type of treatment I deserve. I'm so glad I've found this sub early on before I get involved in a relationship with a loser, LOL
