I also read "partner in crime" as a declaration of a low value relationship. In other words, he's letting you know this relationship will not improve, increase or better your life AT ALL.
A "partner in crime" insinuates the "crimes" will include partaking in activities like binge drinking/eating/drugs. Reckless living. The man who says this phrase, self-identifies as a "criminal". An outlaw, a rebel, a degenerate.
So in looking for a "partner in crime", he's seeking someone to engage in his low-life tendencies with him.

This might be specific for my country (non-English speaking) but we have loads of the obnoxious "mystery men", aka "find out for yourself" guys.

I'll add one - any over emphasis on video games. One mention of it as a hobby is...maybe ok? But if it's a big enough part of their personality that they go into detail or have nothing else to talk about, that's a dude to avoid for 99% of women unless you're in the 1% that are ok with being ignored for 10 hrs a day while he sits in the same pair of pants and plays games.
There are guys who game as a casual and moderate hobby but those arent the dudes who would talk about it in detail on their dating profiles.
