This is why we shouldn't tell men we go to therapy until you've done tons of vetting, even if you're in a good place mentally and it's more of a maintenance thing. There are way too many men out there who think therapy is just paying someone to talk at them and the act of talking is what cures them rather than all the work between sessions. I've legit had men say "you've been to therapy so tell me what your therapist told you" like therapy is a podcast and advice is one size fits all.

I dumped an ex because he had a drinking problem. 2 weeks later, he told me he was working on quitting. I said ok, let me know if you go a full 6 months sober. He said “I can’t wait that long” lmao I was never going to subject myself to sticking around with the hopes that maybe he’d control his drinking. Even if they ask us to stick around saying they’ll change, words mean nothing, only actions and time prove anything

Agreed. I empathized with her. I'll be honest, I really don't feel bad for the PickMe or her ex. Her ex pushed her to insanity not only with his "trading her in" but the taunting and using his lawyer connections to strip everything of meaning, everything she worked and sacrificed for, from her life. The "eat your heart out bitch" or however it went note on that wedding announcement she got in the mail hurt my heart. Basically everything did.
