This guy is obviously a LVM. He was probably manipulating the girl. He thought that revealing another girl was interested with him would make OP insecure and treat him nicer to win him back. I forgot the name of this manipulation tactic but I've heard of LVM using this tactic.

This woman is fantastic but WTH is wrong with the dudes on that forum turning themselves inside out to try to defend this guy? Why would anyone want to date someone who is actively pursuing other women (either in fact or as I suspect, lying about it)???

They are getting all hung up on how she said they were exclusive, but not in a relationship, therefore she had no right to react how she did. Which to me reads that while they weren’t calling themselves bf/gf, they agreed to only give romantic and sexual energy to each other.

Funny how elsewhere men shrug and tell women that they can’t expect him to be sexually exclusive if they don’t exhaustively define the relationship/terms of exclusivity. Well here she did this, they specifically agreed to be sexually exclusive and he violated this (note them gaslighting her, he didn’t technically cheat “yet”, but come on she’s not an idiot, if that other girl had been DTF that moment, he would have).

And even IF he would not have, good for her for recognizing bullshit narc triangulation tactics.

Also I find it hard to believe that any man would tolerate this in a woman they agreed to be sexually exclusive with, relationship status notwithstanding. They get even more butthurt ime.

At that age, I was in a relationship and soo in love. My then bf informed me that he was interested in a classmate, and she was interested in him. And whether he could "explore his feelings" with both of us until he figures out who he wants to be with more. I asked for a couple of days to think about it, then told him no. I had convinced myself that he would choose me. He didn't. It hurt like hell but I stood my ground. She's still his forever girlfriend and they have 2 kids now.

The commenters need to stop quibbling about the definition of a relationship. She set her boundaries, made it clear that things would end if he violated them, then when he did, she left. It’s dead simple.
